These are Fabulous! I hope there's one for North Side. ... and one that focuses on the Irish, Italian, and Polish, when they/we were immigrating and establishing our neighborhoods. I'd love to know how our neighborhood (back when) was established. We lived on Melrose Ave by Lincon Park and my Parents owned a Restaurant on Belmont/Western 😁 Riverview was still there. I was so spoiled by that City! I'm Irish but by my time, I was born on the North Side. Mom and her family had been South Side. GO CUBS - GO!!!!!!!!!

Is that art collection in Beverly open to the public? If it's not, then why? These treasures belong to the people of Chicago and should be on display for all citizens to see. It's a crime for these artifacts to be limited in access.

The Chicago Park District geniuses took out the boxing program at Cal Park and replaced it with an indoor dog walking park. Again, drive your dog to the park… and take it inside 🤷‍♂️
@mrocean8139
@mrocean8139 3 жыл бұрын
@JulieBishop The boxing program Was extremely popular. The dog walking course is empty 99.5 percent of the time. Who the hell would take their dog a huge lakefront park and want to cram it in an old basement walking track? Awful idea.

@@jamesr1703 nah. City never finds money for the southeast side. Look how many times the damn 106th street bridge is closed. That would never fly downtown or up north. And the fact that light foot just gave federal money to the crybaby cpd is infuriating.

Gov agencies tend to get Trendy to please the Public, but clearly there are vast locations to designate as a Dog Park, and a Physical Sport venue, that's already popular, is far more challenging to fund and establish. This is definitely a gov decision that makes one shale their head. Urban areas so benefit from a place that offer "guy energy subjects", we know how these offer young folks an alternative that they actually like, and that is priceless. Dog Parks are important too, but it just is not a logical choice to usurp a popular athletic club. Us hot to catch these guys before they make the decision. How would you know? The Public doesn't seem to realize, elected officials and gov employees depend on the Public telling them whay they want. ...and now I would add - Sending them Thank You notes for appreciated services. I would urge folks to establish a contact in local and state Gov. Not for nagging or criticizing but to get a flow of info, a rapport. Or, there might be a Public Advocate that the Public may feel more comfortable talking with and they lobby on your behalf. I use to be a Lobbyist for Child/Family Health and Welfare, Welfare = Wellbeing. It is easy for me, but others don't feel comfy talking to the Political folks. You can always 8nquire through an elected officials office, speak to the Receptionist or other office staff. They ALWAYS have staff that are there to filter the calls and do the leg work. Our System was/is designed to serve the People, but the People rarely realize they can interact with Legislators or City Counsel. This hinders our system satisfying the People. The few with interests/financial and the Advocates or Volunteer Lobbyists (90% of what I did was Volunteer). Thus, these folks have greater influence only because they are working with the system It would be wise if they Taught this in High School , most don't even offer Civics or Sociology, thus 90% have NO CLUE how a Bill becomes a Law. Politicians get critized for voting for then later voting against a Bill, Remember Kerry, critized him as being "Flip Flopping", well if a Bill gets tagged with an Ammendment, you very well may have Voted Yes 1st Time and No after the Ammendment. That drove me nuts back then: *"When People don't have the Facts, and They get all Critical Publically, they make themselves look very "silly" (I'm being polite) to those whom Have the Facts, Read the Bill, did their Homework. The News Media seems to take delight in misleading the Public and then get the Public to v9cally support their guff. A Democracy depends on a Free Press, it needs Facts. We do not have a Free Press. Elite owns all the Tools of Power: Money/Federal Reserve Bank Corp and Information/News Media. But I will hush now, its my Soapbox. I urge you to speak to their office, and know your doing it for the whole of your Community, not just your personal desire. It is important for youth. Best Successes!

I believe referring to the theater (church) as a palace is incorrect, to be classified as a movie palace it needed to seat 1000 people.
