This should have been an episodic series. And Baer knows most of these mysteries, he covered them on his other shows lol

I love Geoffrey Baer! He's so approachable and has such a sense of adventure. This was very interesting. I never heard of most of these stories, so this was a real treat. Thanks.

You don't put catsup on a Chicago dog because it's 80% brisket - 100% beef. It's rude to put catsup on quality beef

I took care of descendants of the Swift family, as well as Ogden, Byron Smith family, someone who worked on the manhattan project…. and so many more. I usually didn’t know until I’d read their obituaries what kind of history their families had! Always interesting characters!!!❤

Regarding Native American trails that are now roads, you can also see this very clearly in parts of Tokyo. There are some places where a 2 mile stretch of road takes one hour to drive through, because it retraces the path of Edo-era pilgrims or merchant routes.

Related to the "Garalows". Mayor Big Jim Thompson owned "City Services". One of the "services ' was concrete. In the roaring 20's he would lay down sideways in huge sections the city where there would sidewalks but no streets or houses. The collapse of the of the housing market in 1930-33 there were scores of foundations dug but no $ to build a house (or people to buy them). So, they filled in the basements, and they stayed buried for 20 years and were "cleaned out" in the early 1950's post war housing boom.

The lady talking about ketchup on hotdogs is dead wrong. Ketchup is for hamburgers and fries. Mustard is for sausages and hotdogs.

I like the Baer videos, but this one wasn't quite up to the caliber of the others. Some of these "mysteries" were covered other times by Baer, and most were not mysteries. Some interesting Chicago history in parts, but something was off about this conceptually.

Yup. Absolutely right. And who cares about Chicago style hot dogs?

And a UFO can’t create a hole in the clouds? Jeez.. our universe is ridiculously huge, God, we don’t even know what being exist, but we are not alone and have never been alone on this planet or in this galaxy and universe and it’s time to stop thinking like we have been alone.

I just put ketchup on my fine, aged Luettgert sausages. That way they look just right and don’t taste so fleshy. Yum!

“Chicago Hotdog” ok no ketchup in that, but not everyone likes all that garbage on a hotdog. Many, many people in Chicago put ketchup on their hotdog, it’s completely normal. I prefer ketchup and mustard only.

How attention seeking do you need to be? GB videos are some of the most universally appreciated quality videos of Chicago. When your opinion is so uniquely off, you might try being a little less hysterical.
