Here’s a funny fun fact: Angie is always on your side. No matter what. In the game, it’s shown that Angie seems to be a very logical person with accusing Himiko of the murder in ch2, basically figuring out chapter 6, 1 case mystery, and is over all. A very logical person of the group

During the first FTEs, Rantaro inviting Kaede to spend time specifically in the library is mainly a hint about him already keeping an eye to that place because he knows that the secret room is there. It´s also part of the reason he wants to know what Kaede thinks of the others during the FTE as well since at this point in time he is trying to figure out who could be trusted. The location for Rantaro if you look the map is also always near that place for the same reason. Korekiyo can always be found near some female character during FTEs. Hinting at the fact that he is studying them to see if they´re worthy of being friends with his sister. Kokichi can be found near the places related to the previous case during the FTEs of the following chapter. This is how he got all the items that he has in his room. And if you go to Kiyo´s research lab in chapter 4 and check the place. Shuichi will notice that the caged dog village book/document isn´t there anymore. This is because Kokichi took it and then you see it in his room in chapter 6. Shuichi gets some lines of dialogue about the victims and killers of each chapter if you interact with their rooms and ultimate research labs in the next chapter (after their death). But you can only get these lines of dialogue if you interact with those places outside of Free time events. The secret events usually foreshadow the next victim, killer or both by having them in prominent roles during those special scenes (either for the current chapter or for the next one). Example: Kaede and Rantaro are heavily featured in the first one (and Tsumugi, the actual killer is also there), Kirumi, the killer from chapter two is highly involved in the parasol event, Ryoma has a prominent role in the medal coin set event (kiyo too), A man´s fantasy event has all the girls involved in the case for chapter 3, Gonta is part of the magic training event in chapter 4 and Kaito comes up with the idea that leads to the second secret event of that chapter that gets triggered with the pure white sword item. This hints also happen in Danganronpa 1 and Super Danganronpa 2. Although I don´t usually like to mention this one because it can ruin the experience if you know about it beforehand. I also have a lot from UDG, like the fact that all the hits lists from that game are huge references to the DR1 characters (since those were important people in their lives and that was what they saw during the first motive with the videos in DR1). A good example of this would be Celes cat since the way to kill it according to the hit list is with fire (celes execution was fire related) and the food specified for the cat in that hit list is gyoza food (celes favorite food). The hit list for Sayaka states that the girl in question always gets put in the corner (for not being so pretty) something also mentioned by Sayaka in DR1 in FTEs. There are much more references like this ones in these hit list. There´s also some others like the fact that murals you find through the game during the monoku-man puzzles show the story of common fairy tails like snowwhite and cinderella but with the warriors of hope (and Junko) as well as RPG classes and the stats of each of them. You can also look in the rooms of the warriors of hope and find some interesting things like a portrait of Junko that Jataro painted in his room, certain sex related object in Kotoko´s room (that wooden horse isn´t what it looks like), the gravure idol poster from DR1 in Nagisa´s room and if you look VERY carefully you´ll notice that the Kumasutra hotel from V3 is hinted in one of the photos. This also happens right at the beggining of the game by the way, in the scene where you can see through the eyes of the monokuma robot that is going to kill Komaru (in the lower left corner, you can see that it says "V3"). Also and maybe more obvious than these ones, if Komaru gets hit by Ball Monokuma, she´ll get cup noddles in her head like Kyoko in DR1 for a short period of time. And from DR1, during the secret event, as the detective she is Kirigiri notices that Naegi is spying the girls. That´s why she looks in that specific direction in that scene.

Idk- - In trial 5, as you said, Kokichi and Kaito are NEVER on the same side, and it is still the same in trial 5. Kokichi's portrait is on Shuichi's side when the bullet is "Kaito is dead", and Kaito's portrait is on Keebo's side when the bullet is "Kokichi is dead". They've been mocking each other even after death XD - In chapter 2 or 3 if I'm right, when Kokichi switches to Shuichi's side, Kaito NEVER agree's with Shuichi since then, which is kinda ironic. Also, Kokichi is, for some reason, always standing next (or right in front, like trial 1) Shuichi. Probably a metaphor that the Truth can't exist without the Lie. Now this isn't from a scrum debate, but in trial 4, most of the contradiction bullets during non-stop debates are shoot on Kaito's statements; while most of the consent bullets are shoot on Kokichi's statements. The foreshadowing of Shuichi going to Kokichi's way of thinking and disagreeing with Kaito (when Kaito was the one who encouraged Shuichi to always find the truth) is really amazing to me. Some more facts: Himiko is only on your side in the 2nd trial and is never on your side after the 2nd trial Himiko was accused of murder for every case besides the 4th trial I believe (Trial 1- being in the basement. Trial 2- we all know why. Trial 3- she was accused for being at the council and Kiyo accused her because she picked the middle room. Trial 5- because she went to pick up the crossbow) Maki is one of the only people who speaks in all scrum debates (She either agreed and disagreed and always stated an argument.) Some how these 2 girls also survived and I just knew these facts.

SPOILERS!!! In the first Debate Scrum there are three silent people on both sides. To the left are Tenko and Himiko, both of whom are undecided. Then there's Rantaro who's dead (Can't exactly talk when he's dead). To the right are Angie, who's undecided, Shuichi who literally doesn't speak; because, he's figured out the truth and can't bear to say it, and Tsumugi who wants to frame Kaede. To that point, Rantaro is ALWAYS on the side opposing Tsumugi, which makes COMPLETE sense; because, Tsumugi killed him. In fact, with the exception of Angie, EVERY death portrait is always on the side opposite to their killer. This includes Kaede, considering the death game was what killed her, she was framed, and the one who killed her was Tsumugi. This is also why Rantaro and Kaede are always opposite of Tsumugi, they are both her victims. Angie is always on the opposite side of Tenko; because, they are opposing figures for Himiko. Tenko is always on Himiko's side, or rather Himiko is always on Tenko's side, showing no matter how much she looked up to Angie, she always cared for Tenko, no matter what happened... This one's more of a headcanon explanation of why Himiko is always opposing Angie, as well.

Only thing I noticed by myself was Keebo always being on the right side and Miu always being on the wrong side, debate scrums make me hype and I become super not observant Kinda surprised Maki is always on Kaito’s side, even when he’s wrong. It’s pointed out that from Chapter 3 and onward, Kaito is never on Shuichi’s side. Maki is the second most rational out of the trio, and siding opposite to Shuichi in Chapter 4 is particularly illogical if you remove all emotional reasoning from it; the opposing side is suggesting to not even consider a potential avenue of discussion without evidence, and it’s not like Maki is particularly fond of Gonta. Maki is relatively logical, so I think that detail is pretty interesting. Saddening that Chapter 2 is the only trial the whole trio is on the same side :(

A few notes not mentioned (including character sides post-mortem). Beware, lots of text!: Rantaro: Interestingly the only person who switches sides while being dead: He opposes Shuichi in Chapters 1 and 2, but the 3 onwards he sides with Shuichi. Very interestingly this also means he always sides with Kokichi- and by extension always on the side with the least (living) people, and always opposing Kaito. Maybe perhaps he's not confident in Shuichi's abilities at first, but at that point would be more willing to trust Shuichi if he were alive? Could also be foreshadowing that Kokichi knows more about the killing game than he's letting on? Ryoma: Always sides AGAINST Shuichi. Not sure what the reason for this is, though. (My guess is that Ryoma always thinks pessimistically, or in the very least tries to play devil's advocate.) Also not related to the siding, but his funeral portrait is closest to the ground, paralleling his short height. (And also pretty disrespectful :( Kirumi: Only sides against Shuichi once, when she's the culprit. Otherwise she's always on his side. Either she regrets her actions and wants Shuichi to find out the truth behind the killing game, or she's spiteful of Monokuma and simply wants him to get revenge for her. Angie: Somehow always sides with Kaito, which by extension is the side with more people and always siding against Kokichi. Perhaps she always wants to be on the side with more people so she has more people to convert to Atua's side? (Someone in another video pointed out that after she died she begins opposing Shuichi, and that possibly she wanted her friends to join her in the afterlife by going against the Ultimate Detective's side.) Tenko: As mentioned, she's always the side side as Himiko... while she's alive anyway. (Chapter 3's trial onwards she's always siding with Shuichi.) She always sides with Shuichi from Chapter 2 onwards, which I think is a combination of it being about a week into the game (where everyone is starting to become more acquainted with each other, whereas before there's an argument that everyone's not super well adjusted yet), Shuichi being more social altogether, and still not really believing in himself (Tenko herself points this out in Chapter 3). Interestingly she always opposes Tsumugi and Gonta. Tsumugi I'll explain later. Gonta I'm not entirely sure other than having only one person each side that's strong and passionate but dumb. Korekiyo: Always sides Shuichi except the trial where he's the culprit. Likely he wanted everyone to die so he could send them to his sister (and the one time he sided with Shuichi was so he could escape and continue his plans (except that probably wasn't happening either way but that's not relevant)). Miu: Always sides against Shuichi when she was alive, but after she dies she sides with him. Same case as Kirumi, could either be out of regret or revenge. (I'm willing to think more regret since on a technical level it was Kokichi that got Miu killed, and if anything she'd probably want Kokichi dead more than Gonta. She also might've realized that Kokichi had a plan to end the killing game also?) Gonta/Tsumugi (mostly Tsumugi): Tsumugi and Gonta are always on the same side, which always opposes Tenko (even after death). Tsumugi and Gonta being on the same side could be Tsumugi being caring for Gonta or trying to garner some sympathy for seeming like she cared (and I'm willing to bet the latter: Unlike Maki with Kaito and Tenko with Himiko (in the two in each pair are always next to each other), Tsumugi is usually far from Gonta, only standing next to him in Chapter 4 after Gonta become suspected). Tsumugi opposing Tenko could be clever foreshadowing: Tenko is always upfront about her emotions (down to confiding that she might've wanted Angie "gone" at one point), yet still understands how people feel and always strives for them to be more confidnt in themselves. Tsumugi on the other hand hides behind being "plain" every 3 lines, and really only motivates people to fit her own agenda, which usually means driving the killing game onwards. Positions: Tsumugi is always standing close to the culprit. (Chapter 2 and 4 she's standing right next to Kirumi and Gonta respectively, and Chapter 3 she's right across from Kiyo. Chapter 1 doesn't apply since Chapter 1 she's the actual culprit and Chapter 5 the culprit doesn't participate in the scrum debate. Still there's something to note that she's standing the closest to them out of everyone in chapter 5.) Also interestingly in each Debate Scrum the killer/victim for the next chapter are positioned directly diagonally from each other.

I know i’m late but i have a fun fact: The portraits are always on the same side, they don’t change with different trials. This is more easily noticed on the right side (shuichi’s side) Here is how they look in every trial, only with the death portraits and in order. (Also rantaro’s portrait is the only one that switched sides) Trial 2 Left Right Ryoma. Rantaro Kaede Trial 3 Left. Right Ryoma. Rantaro Angie. Kaede Kirumi Tenko Trial 4 Left. Right Ryoma. I´m not entirely sure, but Rantaro is always on the exact opposite of Tsumugi after the first trial. Also he has a scrum debate sprite, which is sadly never used.

If we consider the person at the front during the intro of the debate to be the leader, then the protagonist rebukes some argument of the leader every chapter except chapter 3. (Kaede/Kokichi, Shuichi/Kokichi, Himiko/Keebo, Kaito/Shuichi+Kokichi, Kiibo/Shuichi) Chapter 4 is the only chapter where the leaders speak strictly more than anyone else in their groups (chapters 1 and 2 everyone has 1 line at most, chapter 3 everyone had 1 line except Shuichi and Korekiyo on the same side, chapter 4 Kaito had 3 lines and his side had 1 each while Shuichi has 3 while his side had 2, chapter 5 opposing side had 2 each while our side had 3 each) To expand on the Tsumugi one, the only times she was right were for chapter 1 and 5, you've stated why for chapter 1 but for chapter 5 she needed to get the truth because even she didn't know who the culprit was this time. Bonus fact unrelated to scrum debates. During the argument armaments, except in chapter 5 you never go up against someone who is present normally in the next class trial (chapter 1: Ryoma, chapter 2: Kirumi and Tenko, chapter 3: Korekiyo and Miu, chapter 4: Kaito who is in an exisal in the next trial and chapter 5: Maki)

More facts! Oh yeah these have spoilers Angie is always on the protagonists side, no matter who it is Keebo is the audience’s camera, and he’s usually on your side. That could reveal that Shuichi is a fan favorite, and they usually have his back. Keebo is correct in every debate. Kirumi is on your side 50% of the time and against you the other 50% of the time. (Obviously because she is only there for two debates and is attempting to cover up her murder in the second.)
