I vote for candle snuffer to identify your mystery find. Even in the present day, snuffers are made that swing freely from the end of a long handle.

Beautiful old lantern. If possible please restore it. It will be awesome. .I really like the bits of history in the videos. I find it quite interesting. Thank You for including them. The key with the spanner cut into it looks almost identical (less the spanner cut) to one that fit a strong box my parents had. Probably would date into the 1940's as a guess. nice medieval buckle.

Hi there Peaky dippers.. I think it's a Roman Bell.Opps forgot to say I love your videos
@ianscrivener5944 ай бұрын
The bell shaped item is a plummet used for fishing,the bottom would have contained cork to stick the point of the hook into,used to determine the depth when fishing with a float

Just a quick Glen the small triangular thing you found that you weren't sure about crud it be the insert for the iron marie found that takes the heated triangle into the back of it in one of the episodes I watched I've watched all of them now and I get them a bit mixed up lol

Is it a fishing plummet ? Does it have a cork insert in the bottom for setting a hook in to set the depth of a float fishing in the river ?

The piece of wood with a cog on the end, could it be part of an old mangle??
@michaelwyatt11434 ай бұрын
Possibly a bell. Very crude construction on the top with the hole, very much like a croatal bell build. I'd say at least250 years old.🙂👍

YOUR BELL it's a weight for when your fishing it had a cork on the bottom . you thread a hook and line and put the hook in the cork then with a float on the line you find the depth of the river
