@MustDoCanada vancouver Island. Real estate has become too much here over last few years. Time for a change

@@Salabunda I hear ya. We were planning to buy something in Calgary but it's too expensive now too. Actually more than Van Island (except for Victoria). Supposedyl, according to a study, factoring in all costs and not just real estate, Calgary is the most expensive city in Canada now. how times have changed

@@tramenari haha true! The lodge rents e-bikes but they're not even allowed on trails. And they dont upkeep them very well

There used to be a hut on the beach that every summer rented out mountain bikes, paddleboards, kayaks, canoes etc. But I believe it is not in operation this summer I imagine due to covid or staffing etc.

My wife and I were here last August for a few days and totally fall in love with the place. We stayed at the Resort in town and will most likely find an Air B&B for next summer as we plan to go back for a full week. Tons of activities all year long to do or just hang and enjoy the peace and quiet. Friendly people and some really beautiful properties. Looking forward to going back! Great video!

Had to watch, thanks. I was a young boy living with my folks in Medicine Hat in the ‘60s we camped at Elkwater Lake all the time. This park is an oasis in the middle of the prairies. Highly recommend visiting it.

I just recently came across your videos, fellow Calgarian ...... I love travel have not done near as much as you guys but would love to learn more about how you finance all of it how sponsors come into play and if you still have online work as well..... Thank you for sharing its nice to see all the Alberta travel this past year too as our backyard is stunning !

Oh awesome, hey! Well, it's a bit of a long story. For many years we travelled and had blogs and did some light stuff, but in 2017, we did a really big project for Canada's 150th, producing a 12-part series across the country. For this, we did have a sponsor and hired a videographer. It was meant to be a one-time documentary but with the success, we decided to learn video ourselves and continue. I would probably estimate 2-3 years of full-time work without pay building the website, seo, videos, etc but now we're a company that produced travel content for DMO's, travel companies, etc. We operate a pretty big website, a newsletter, this channel, and a bunch of social media accounts. Hope that helps :)

two ago October 7th 2023 I visited Cypress Hill Saskatchewan provincial park. The weather was cool but very pleasant. The setting and the scenery are still magnificent. but somehow an uncomfortable feeling of decay could be felt. No one was on site. No visitors no staff member just the 2 of us. not a map nor a brochure explaining the geology. history vegetation, birds .... were available. All facilities including pit toilets were locked. the poorly maintained road network with inadequate road signs was hard to navigate. We managed to locate the lookout and left the park by passing Fort Walsh. It was certainly a major set back from my previous set back from my last [previous visit 15 years ago. From Cyprus Hill we went directly to grassland & badlands national parks, both parks were well attended by staff members and many hikers could be seen. after the cypress hill visit I will not re command a visit to anyone.
