It is! They're huge. Sooooo much meat. Too much in some ways. About 4-5 x the meat you'd get in Mexico, and a taco there is about $1.50-2

Thanks for this fun three part train trip across Canada. I think I would like to do the shorter trip from Toronto to Montreal, it looks like a very comfortable way to travel. It’s unfortunate that train travel is so expensive but I guess it’s the experience that’s important. I really have to commend you both for being able to handle that trip so well with not one but two babies. I love that they seemed to be pretty content and happy most of the time. I think they enjoy traveling with mom and dad too. What a wonderful experience for your mothers as well. I’m sure they were a big help to you. I love your videos and being able to share the experiences with you.

thank you so much! Yes, they are good little travellers. The train between Montreal and Toronto is quite reasonable. Less than $100 I believe. But the sleeper trains are costly

We love the Ocean! There is a train car called the renaisance which has 3 and 4 bedroom cabins, a bar, and observation area. It used to be at the end of the Ocean for several months then on the Canadian. We loved this car but it doesn't come here anymore

We took the return trip, from Montreal to Halifax. We had the sleeper cars. Sadly, we did not like the whole experience. Very bumpy ride, on the way back the chief attendant was rude, on numerous occasions. The food was so so...train arrived two hours late, with no supper provided at 7.00 ...too late for diabetics. very slow train. We have done the California Zephyr ride and loved it. Would not do this ride again. Rather drive my own car.

Ha! This is a joke. These “negatives” play but a very tiny, tiny role in everyday life. I grew up in Reading, PA where now every nook and cranny in the city is a cesspool of drugs and violence. I spent very little time in Vancouver this past weekend and the minute we sailed into the harbor I was in some kind of trans state in that I haven’t seen such urban beauty in a very long time. I spent a lot of time in Sydney, NYC, Adelaide, Madrid, Melbourne, and Denver and a short time in many other cities and Vancouver is the best place on the planet for me. I couldn’t believe how little trash there was and throughout the downtown area I was blown away by how incredibly friendly and beautiful everything was. I don’t care how expensive it is to live there I’m making it my life goal to retire there. All great cities are expensive now and that’s a good thing. I’d rather live in a 800ft² apartment with my family in Vancouver than a palace in a shithole like Phoenix. All the negative comments here are from people who clearly have never lived in a real crappy city. I’ve never been embarrassed to call myself American than when I was in Vancouver. There’s something special about the city. It was cloudy and rained the entire time I was there and I couldn’t stop smiling and I’m from Flagstaff, AZ which is itself a paradise so take that for what it’s worth.

The Canadian between Toronto and Vancouver gets more tourist traffic than the Ocean VIA passenger train gets and therefore more is invested in catering to tourists including things like having a chef on board and offering more higher end menu choices. The Canadian also has a dome car which, unfortunately, VIA removed from the Ocean train between Montreal and Halifax. The delays happen because freight cars have priority on the tracks over passenger cars in Canada. My understanding is that the federal government no longer owns the rail tracks through the country as they originally did. Private companies do and their priority is in moving goods, not people.
@MustDoCanada10 күн бұрын
Yes, true. Something like 95% of tracks are owned by CN Rail

I took the westbound (Canadian) from Toronto all the way to Vancouver on May 19th - 23rd, 2024 So pretty close to when you guys did the eastbound counterpart. The train ride was beautiful and the views were absolutely fantastic. I actually met somebody when I was traveling on the Canadian. I spent two weeks in Canada myself, I spent one week in Toronto and Montreal. Before my parents came in from the USA on the Amtrak to meet me. All three of us boarded together to cross Canada. During our time on the train, I met a beautiful woman who was also traveling in the world solo from Germany. My trip was Canada 🇨🇦 and Australia 🇦🇺. Then her trip was Canada 🇨🇦, New Zealand 🇳🇿, Singapore 🇸🇬, & Thailand 🇹🇭 We met on the train on the second day of the trip. We were in the Dome car and just started chatting and it didn’t stop for hours. We ended up chatting all the way to 1am that night When we arrived into Vancouver, that Thursday we all split ways and went our separate directions. The following day I had a flight with Air Canada from Vancouver 🇨🇦 to Brisbane 🇦🇺, they had an issue with my ticket, which brought me to the airport earlier than I expected. Which turned out to be a good thing because the woman I met on the train with also at the airport waiting for her car rental. We ended up chatting for several more hours, before I asked her if she would be OK with a hug before we went our separate ways. We have stayed in touch through WhatsApp. Since we were going to the same part of the world but different countries we got to learn about it through each other. We’ve really hit it off and become good friends. She even gave me the OK to book a flight to come and see her. So in April, I’m flying from the USA 🇺🇸 to go and visit her in Germany 🇩🇪 You never know when you’re gonna meet someone and your whole wide world comes undone. I’m super excited to go see her again, because this seems like fate and she might be my future wife. Great video

Was just on a cruise and we stopped off at St John. Hands down one of the worst places I've ever been in my life and I've seen lots of bad areas in Europe, Canada and America. Extremely dirty, grubby, people walking around carrying knives and not a lot to see. The malls were empty which was a big indication that the place is obviously run down. The city has obviously put money into the waterfront to cater to the cruises but if you walk up through the town to the top of the hill it's a real eye opener

I'm booked for exactly a year from now! This is the first video to show the two bedrooms' partition folded to combine rooms. You must be a railfan to have the insider knowledge to book bedrooms E & F, as the latter is somewhat larger than the other bedrooms. The combination of the two is the largest possible accommodation on the train.... even larger than the prestige luxury suite!
