Completely disagree re the Gabriel penalty. Its a clear misunderstanding to me and he gains no advantage. Ruining a game over an error like that would just be silly imo. Yes he breaks the rules but it made sense for the referee to apply some common sense to the situation and simply call it back

FD was like a 2017 Monaco (overperformed given their resources), and ultimately had their team and talent picked apart by bigger fish (Sky Sports) with more resources.

Sky Sports purchased Football Daily in a bid to become more engaging with younger audiences, took away the lads that made the channel popular and put them on their more mainstream shows, thereby torpedo'ing Football Daily's popularity and simultanously annoying the older Sky viewers that do not like the FD guys on their usual shows.

FD used to fill a specific niche in the market, presenting football in a more casual manner like a group of mates at the bar, and in that way appealed massively to younger viewers and providing an alternative to those that dont like Sky. Sky thought they could just replicate it by taking the guys and adding them to their shows. And its understandable of course, for guys like Joe it makes sense to switch to Sky as its the bigger platform with more oppertunities, Hamill ofcourse made the switch to The Athletic which seems to suit him well, and bless Dougie and the lot who are at least trying to keep FD alive. But that golden formula they had that made them succesful, yea thats dead.

The propaganda for Real on the Yoro bit is cringe-worthy. Joe crying about Juve and PSG being boring options for players, but oozing over Real monopolising more quality young players. Also, Real aren't a step ahead looking at Yoro when any scout or club worth a penny knows Yoro is special - Real are just richer and more appealing a club than 99% of other clubs. Just felt lazy and a bit lovey dovey for a club that is everything people moan about with modern football.
