And part 2 was just as informative and thrilling as the first part. No. I'm not kidding! Must admit I held my breath when you stumbled a bit crossing the river.😄 Thank you again for taking your valuable time and documenting this area's lost history. I hope you continue these efforts and I look forward to your next adventure.

For better or worse, with Folsom Lake are drought levels in 2021, I will be able to get to some places that I wasn't several years ago. There is still lots more history to explore.

@@KevinKnauss I think these videos were awesome and can’t wait to see what you find during this year’s drought. Even if I could do the hiking in this heat, I wouldn’t have any idea what I was looking at because so much of this specific history was not taught to even us local kids. This history was sadly forgotten as soon as water covered it all. Fyi, I was in school in the 80s & 90s, sad it was so few decades later and already had been mostly forgotten.

@@kdmb4199 I had no idea what I was looking at back in 2013. That's when I started my research looking into the history, structures, with lots of maps. Some of it only makes sense after much research and investigation.

Kevin, the boat at 4:23 was probably the one that caught fire and sank in about 2010. The fisherman was rescued, if it is. Thanks for posting the fruits of your hard work for all to see. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity.

I do have another picture of a sunken fishing boat, not too far from where this one sits. But the photo was taken close to sunset and not as crisp and clear. I’m glad you enjoyed the history!

Thank you so much for your hard work, very interesting history and valuable video. The young people should learn it was how hard and what they went through to build America.

It was a lot of hard, physical labor either mining or building the infrastructure. There was also a serious cost to the environment and the displacement of Native Americans.

Amazing documentation of rarely seen remnants of the starts of the region. Lived in Sacramento my entire life and it’s so interesting to see the things popping out in our bad drought years. I guess relearning the region’s history could be considered a thin silver lining (or maybe gold lol) but unless folks like you document (and produce videos like this) very few who actually get to see and grasp the importance of these remnants.

My sentiments exactly. With more lake bed exposed, later this summer I'll be able to grab more images of remnants of history.

Enjoyed the river crossing immensely! Been there ... done that! (here in Australia though).
