Frank Lloyd Wright, Jr. left his mark in Huntington Beach - but not the one he wanted (FYI, my favorite hidden history site in HB!)

The butcher shop always had the cow out front. The Thrifty Drug here used to have .15 cent ice scream scoops.

Another reason Huntington Beach is simply awesome! A great idea would be a Chris Epting led tour of Huntington Beach!

Hey Christopher! What, no attribution to me? You used the postcard image I shared with you. By the Wright did NOT intend the tower to resemble an abstracted reference to an oil derrick. That’s what the Public perceived it as an insult. I was searching for the two newspapers stories on Westfair to link to a friend and I can’t seem to find them...I used tell people to Google “ Patrick Tierney/Lloyd Wright” and articles would come up. What’s up friend?

I realize that this is history and for that I'm glad it has been preserved. But, with that said, this is just another run down old looking strip mall. JMHO. I know I'm taking my life in my hands by saying this. I have no love for most everything that Frank Lloyd Wright ever designed or built. This mall has nothing but a few diamond shaped ornaments on the corners. Other than that, I see nothing worth preserving. Again, JMHO.
