Renee don’t apologize for not being “ entertaining”. I’ve watched you since the early videos and often watch simply to listen while I photograph and weigh items getting ready to list. I spend a lot of time alone so enjoy listening to KZbin “friends” merely to keep me company because I enjoy just being with you on your adventures.

A lot of those records were WWII era. Since my Dad was in the Navy during WWII those tunes were a favorite of my Mom and I grew up listening to them. I would be surprised if some of them didn’t have value.

As you learned the hard way, 78’s can be very brittle. It’s nice that most of those you found were in sleeves. That helps to keep them from cracking or breaking.

Why not ask her over, soriously. The US is huge and easy to travel within. I got stuck in Europe visiting family and friends and now trapped in a small country. Normally live in Cape Town, South Africa which is also huge. They have the most strict corona rules, but friends say the majority can't afford masks and still live daily life like if there were no rules. And nobody cares nor passes away. The amount of deceased persons EVEN DROPPED minimum 14% in all western / industrial countries. Coroners have less work to do since January 2020 too, but they (governments, pharmaceutical companies and some others) want to earn on these vaccinations. THIS IS THE FIRST VACCINATION EVER THAT HASN'T BEEN TESTED NEITHER ON ANIMALS NOR PERSONS!!!

It's also fun to see how you sort through all of this stuff. It might not be the vintage stuff that you like, but I like to watch your process. I like to hear your thoughts on what to keep, what to discard, what might sell, what will sell well in your opinion... I also just like to explore with you. It is an adventure. my favorite was the hassock you found the records in. but it was more for the hassock itself that looked like my Mom's! It had the pocket on the lid too. she re-upholstered the seat many times over the years as my 3 sisters and she and I all sat on it at the sewing machine and sewed many outfits. great find with the records of course!

Random trivia time: 78 records like that ones you were showing are made from shellac. I always thought that was some kind of early plastic however I found out the other day that shellac is a resin that is secreted from the female lac bug which is found in the forests of India and Thailand.

Nice looking shed…bet it’s hot as heck in there. Lots of work doing clean outs like this, to much for me. One thing the Motorcycle not being a Harley you probably don’t have to worry about an oily floor! 😃 In my experience records like those have very minimal value and are a hard sell in any case Exceptions can be old bluegrass and jazz. Later punk stuff can sell very well I got a big bag of shop rags once, gave a lot away, kept couple dozen to wrap pistols in.

Got cicadas?? The shed looks like my kind of place to spend a day exploring! I've gotten solvents and thinners for nothing at sales. In hardware stores that stuff can be pricey, and out here in California the environmental police are banning many of these chemicals! The newer stuff is junk! Ah, old 78's...my kind of music!! Ray's biggest hit! Yeah...I grew up with these numbers. If you want to know about 78's, pay me a visit, I have around 3000+. I have every one of the titles and artists you mentioned! The value on most of the ones you mentioned is rather low 25 cents to $3...in mint condition. The ones that can bring money are the jazz and early black artists on independent labels from the 1930-1950 era. Today, one can simply stream any style of music they want, and few people have 78 turntables. Some of the younger generations do not even know what a 78 record is!

78s are made of a brittle material which uses a shellac resin (thus their other name is shellac records). During and after World War II when shellac supplies were extremely limited, some 78 rpm records were pressed in vinyl instead of shellac (wax)

Renee you should watch the movie jeepers creepers it’s a good movie I think it came out in the 90s because I know my son was born in 94 so it’s probably the late 90s but you should really watch it that song jeepers creepers is throughout that whole movie it’s kind of a thriller scary suspenseful movie.. you might wanna watch it in the daytime but I don’t know because we’re in 2021 so whatever they did back in the 90s probably doesn’t come as scary as movies like that makes today different era😂😂😂😂

Could you tell I was thinking of you earlier? Huh,huh? I was doing "a walk around" with a history vlogger. He was at Gettysburg. He would probably dance a jig just to see your Civil War diaries. I actually " know" several guys who would line up to see those diaries. He was in the house where a young woman was shot in the back while making bread. She was the only civilian casualty. Her sister had just had a baby. The house had 150 bullet holes in it. The new mom and baby barely escaped unscathed. Patty Page and the other records should sell easily. There is a way to flatten the wavy ones. You can tell the guy spent a lot of time in that shed. I appreciate your sweat. It is actually theraputic. Replace your electrolytes. If you taste salty, replace sodium and potassium. You should remind us which flea market you frequent. Always enjoy your vlog. Stay safe.
