There is evidence that the Shroud, venerated in France as early as 1350, is the Shroud we see today preserved in Turin, Italy.
This DVD takes the historical high ground as it presents the places, the written evidence, the changes of ownership, the various expositions and the first 1898 photograph that changed everything -- and brought the Holy Shroud into the realm of modern science and to worldwide attention for the very first time.
This DVD is the most authentic and definitive DVD yet produced on the Holy Shroud. It reports on the first examinations of the fabric and the imprint left on it by the body of a dead man who had been tortured and crucified. It describes the discovery of red blood cells and pollen traces, carbon-14 dating, and computerized image processing. The DVD features a one-hour documentary film, The Man of Pain, which was the Official Documentary of the 1998 Holy Shroud Exposition Committee and was granted the right to use the Vatican's Jubilee 2000 logo. It is the only documentary yet made to present High Definition (HDTV) footage of the private exposition which took place on June 25, 1997 -- and the only documentary to be filmed since the fire that badly damaged Guarini's Chapel.
This film was made with the assistance of experts from the Archdiocese of Turin, and includes footage shot in Jerusalem, the church of St. Catherine of Sinai, Edessa, Istanbul, Lirey, St. Hyppolyte, and Chambery. Scientific consultants to the project included Pierluigi Baima Bollone, Nello Balossino, Giuseppe Ghiberti, Silvano Scannerini, and Giuseppe Terzuolo. The Shroud DVD features 160 minutes of total content, in five language versions -- Italian, English, French, German and Spanish. In addition to the film The Man of Pain, extra features include The 1998 Restoration History, The 2002 Restoration History, Iconographic Routes, Backstage at the Filming, Extra Interviews, An Interactive Map of Shroud History, and the short films, The Guarini Chapel and The Face of Christ.

The image is too good for this theory to be correct. Imagine film in a camera being wrinkled, curved, and varying in distance to the lens. For one to believe this stuff the shroud would have to believe the shroud was perfectly flat and the radiation only went from the body perpendicular to the shroud. This is soooo wrong!!!!

Topic: The Properties which the Shroud of Turin Exhibits To all those geniuses, that claim that it is a painting produced by a medieval painter circa 1500 AC, please find another painting (work of art from any period by ANY painter ) that when photographed would produced and exhibits the SAME EXACT properties produced (a 3 dimensional positive of a negative) in the Shroud of Turin. The date is irrelevant (whether its a modern or ancient work of art) because what I am focusing here on this post is on the PROPERTIES which the Shroud exhibits when studied by competent scientists in a control environment. My main claim is that these properties are ONLY found in the Shroud of Turin and NO were else on planet earth therefore it is NOT a work of art made by a man but it is a miracle performed by Jehovah God himself. The day that anyone could duplicate the results/properties of the Shroud of Turin in a man made painting then I will believe it is a painting, till then I will acknowledge it as the Shroud linen that covered the dead body of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ preserved by a miracle performed by ALL MIGHTY Jehovah God (The Father) himself. Concerning the dating in which it was made , my opinion (which I could be wrong on it) is that it is the burial Shroud linen of our Lord Jesus Christ. My main claim on this post , which is a FACT, is that it was made by Jehovah God and NOT by man. Why I state it as a FACT ?, because the PROPERTIES it exhibits which NO man has been able to replicate. This Shroud was NOT made by human hands but by Jehovah God himself. In the earliest Christian Bible, we find in the book of Barnabas, that Jude took the place of Jesus on the cross. Jesus said his goodbyes as he and his wife, Mary, left for France. Before Paul could be arrested on charges of heresy in Jerusalem, he had the brother of Jesus, James the Just, murdered in 63 AD. They took it off to warp his body up. Why would his loved ones wrap him up with the throne still stuck on his head. They washed his body with care, scented his body with perfumes etc. & wrapped him up!! Why would there be a crown of thorns imprint on the Turin?

It is very strange that the image shows the figure still wearing the 'crown' of thorns and the little fruits that were part of that. If you were burying someone wouldnt you take that off since it was meant to mock him, was not part of jewish burial ritual and was in the way of wrapping the body?

It does not show the crown of thorns, I don’t know where you got that idea. They have said it shows all of the wounds on the head where the thorns punctured the scalp and where His head bled. The interesting fact that the Shroud has demonstrated is that it wasn’t just a circle of thorns like most artists have pictured as what was placed on Christ’s head but a complete cap covering the head. There was many wounds all over the scalp. It shows a broken nose and a swollen eye from being punched in the eye and cheek. They have found pollen which is microscopic dust like particles and they can identify which plants the pollens came from and some are specific to the parts of the world where the Shroud has been moved through. For example they found the pollen from the plant that grows thorns and the pollen has little thorn like protrusions on it but of course it has to be viewed under a microscope and it comes specifically from Jerusalem. Nobody in the Middle Ages knew about pollen because Microscopes had not been invented. For everything that nonbelievers try to discredit it as not being genuine they just don’t understand the whole picture of the Shroud and the Miracle of the creation of it. Also the Jewish people had religious laws about touching bloody objects and how the first Christians were persecuted because the Roman emperors were determined to eliminate all belief in Jesus. They had to hide the Shroud, many people have tried to destroy it and the belief in Jesus just like everybody who tries to say it’s fake is trying to do but there is too much scientific evidence to prove it’s real and only really stubborn nonbelievers tries to say it isn’t because they don’t want to admit there is a Being more powerful than they are who could destroy all of planet earth if He wanted too at the mere thought of it. The Shroud was found folded up and hidden inside a gate leading into the city and I think they have said the apostles hid it in there plastered over, it was probably in some sort of container. They were tearing down the structure of the gate and found the Shroud hidden in there because people wanted to destroy it. Christians had to hide everything about their beliefs and their worship.

How do you know that this would be mentioned in the gospels? Isn't the image all but invisible unless seen under specific circumstances that only modern technology can demonstrate? Jesus's disciples, if they saw the shroud, probably thought nothing of it.

They are able to make a full scale detail specific statue from it with scientific and mathematical tools. The point of the bible account was to offer mankind a way to be born again. In the process of the Redeemer King going about that activity (Passover death, Unleavened bread burial and the First Fruits Resurrection) produced the Image as a BYPRODUCT. There is mention of his burial clothe and face napkin in the scripture, but this was in 33 AD. It was not till 1800 or thereof that people of a more science based awareness with the advent of camera who took a picture of it , saw that there was more information to derive from it. They the two statues, and they have it done to the individual hairs on his head, and beard. Each little hair and beard hair, and everything else. I mean everything else! And his hands cover his Private virgin parts, shall we say. U can see beyond that, everything, butt, legs, every single numerous whip, bruise, etc. This was amazing. There is so much that could said. Oh and it has 3d hologram properties too. There is a lot going on there. (Madame Dane) And it has opened up the area of Quantum Physics too to understand that time stopped for a nano second ( actually less than that) and restarted, with a new beginning. And then the issue of the Billions of Watts of light that were used that we do not have access to.
