Kind of a fun little fact that many people don't seem to know about: When Geto is telling Gojo to be more humble and polite, what he's really saying (as far as I can tell) is that he should stop using "Ore" when referring to himself, which can be seen as rude. He says it would be better to use "Watashi" or even "Boku", which are considered more polite. In season 1, Gojo uses "Boku" to refer to himself, so he eventually ends up taking Geto's advice.

​@@FlexiejayAnime Just a little extra further explanation on why it might be considered rude. "Ore" denotes a kind of hierarchy or self-centeredness. Anyone using it around strangers makes the person using it sound very obnoxious and egotistical. There's not really an example of it in English but the closest comparison would be if someone always talks about themselves in the third person and calls themselves something like "Mr. Better Than You". All of that explains the kind of person Gojo was when he was younger.

Gojo and Geto are 16 years old here, and this is set some years before the main story. Tengen is a cruivcial part of the JJK's worldbuilding, you'll learn about him more as the story unfolds. Geto was humble, initally good, an all-for-mankind type of guy, and Gojo was an overconfident, arrogant brat. The guy at the end is Megumi's dad, but that's all I'm gonna say for now.

In the past geto was the one carying for the weak and see that they need to be protected no matter what opose to how we see him in the movie and how he hate all the non-sorcerers. Gojo on the other hand see the weak protection as a waist of time beacuse he do not care about people weaker and untalented opose with Gojo from the future who give students like Maki a chance to succeed and save yuji and yuta from execution dispive them being weaker than other sorceress from their world (young gojo would not care)

Hey Flexie, there's a reason why Geto's first scene is that one of him absorving a curse, and why he turns to be a villain in JJK0 and S1. You'll need to think a bit about it, since Gege is not know for spelling things out, but be sure to always have his future version in the back of your mind, and it'll be crystal clear why he went the path he is now in the series.

Great video! I just want to say if you have the chance, you should read the translated lyrics for the opening ("Where our blue is") and ending ("Akari") songs. I swear if you combine the songs with the visuals from the anime, it could be straight out of the boy's love anime haha. A lot of us speculate that the lyrics for both songs are references of Gojo and Geto thinking about the other (the opening being Gojo thinking of Geto and the ending being vice versa)

Gojo, Geto, Utahmine aka she's the current teacher who works with the bald leader in season one and Shoko aka Dr. Lady from season 1 are the youngest of the group.

a way to explain Gojo's Curse technique is, that Gojo is 0 and you are 1, for 1 to reach 0 you would normally need to subtract the distance you travel until the distance between you and the target reaches 0. for example: 1(you) -1 (distance) = 0 (gojo) and you reached him but gojo forces so instead of subtracting the distance you travel, he than divides it by 2, so instead : 1-1 = 0 it is 1/2 = 0.50 / 2 = 0.25 / 2 = 0.125 it does not matter for much you travel bc the distance will always be divided by 2 which means it will never be 0 but 00000001

I think you messed up the 2 classifications during character introductions. First grade and 2nd year are completely different things. Grade refers to power as you assumed of Mei Mei (4, 3, 2, 1, Special). Year refers to the year of Jujutsu High they're currently in and does not affect grade. Pretty sure Gojo and Geto were considered Special grade by this point already.

I recommend you to watch the translation for the op and end. It's heartbreaking cuz both of them are messages. One for Geto and the other for Gojo. You just have to read it and prepare yourself for this ride

20:34 It is interesting that the English translation of Geto's dialogue differs from the Japanese version, but the underlying message itself is the same, and I think it is a good translation. In the Japanese version, Geto advises Gojo to stop using the first person, "ORE". In general, the first person of a mature male is either WATASHI, which is the safest and most publicly appropriate gender-neutral first person, or BOKU, which is a more private first person with male modesty overtones. Because Geto is as competent as Gojo, he is not looked down upon by anyone when he uses the humble first person, and all his language other than the first person is polite, always indicating the impression that he is a competent yet humble young man. ORE is a first person with a more masculine self-image attached to it, and while it is a common first person for active elementary school students and middle school boys who want to dress up, it becomes a bit embarrassing to use it at a later age (especially for someone like Geto who is mentally approaching adulthood). If I ever use the first person "ORE" in my adult life at work, it will only be in closed situations with very close colleagues, unless the company I work for has an athletic culture, such as in the construction industry. If someone calls himself an ORE in a meeting, he will certainly stand out in a bad way, and his boss or a kind colleague will probably warn him later, telling him to stop using such language, or he may not even be given the opportunity to notice it and may lose his reputation in the company without being noticed. Geto may feel a little embarrassed and almost empathetic shame when his best friend, who is the same age as him, still uses the first person ORE in a childish manner that lacks the humility of an adult. However, if Geto's admonition were translated directly into English, it would be a meaningless conversation for those who do not know the difference between the meanings of ORE and BOKU. I think it is wonderful that the English version was created with such careful translation. I don't know if American translators are always doing a great job, because there are many Woke people who distort the original text and forcefully twist it to make a political statement, but if translators focus on their work, all works can transcend oceans and deliver the best experience to people around the world. Forgive my long-windedness.

One of my favorite little tidbits from the outro is Gojo walking with an umbrella. Meanwhile in one of the openings for S1 he's just letting his Infinity keep him dry. A quick thing about Gojos power. Since you've no doubt watched episode 2 by now. Google asymptote graph. I don't know how well you know math but Gojo is basically 0. You can only get infinitely close but never reach.
