The one-two punch this episode delivers is absolutely diabolical. The shock of Toji eviscerating Gojo is softened by the audience knowing he's still alive; then it has you drop your guard with the moment between Riko and Geto, and suddenly- BANG here's Toji again. Gege is an evil genius

Probably the most shocking flashback episode in anime, everyone freaked out when this first came out. Gege really like to put in happy scenes and then surprise rip it all away from you in the next moment. He's like "ohh you were enjoying that? welp your fav characters are now dead, enjoy depression." My fav thing with this episode tho are the real consequences is has on the characters, they're very real and long reaching. It literally effects the entire rest of the story.
