Hidden Light Bar Install - Ford Econoline Van Build ~ Part 6

In this video you can see how I made custom mounting brackets to fit the 20" light bar into the existing hole in the front bumper. I also modified the light bar's wiring harness to turn on/off with the van's high beam head lights.
I consider this a 'budget mod' as it's something I was able to do without purchasing multiple accessories to install the light bar....get a light bar, make your own brackets and repurpose the light bar's wiring harness.

Not at all, there’s still plenty of space for air to flow around the light so I don’t think it would be a worry.

Hey brother, love the vids keep um coming I just bought an 09 e350 superduty extended passenger. Question: what headlights are you running? Im not planning a light bar but want to fix the dull stock headlights not to mention one of my low beams is out on the left side (they both only work high beams)

Oh it’s why you factory fog or driving lights turn off when you turn on high beams

With your highbeams on, and that light bar there wouldn’t that be illegal and many states

Not sure the laws regarding high beams...general practice if you can see someone else, don't use them.

Why did you completely skip past the part of how you were able to drill a hole through the bumper you didn’t say what size drillbit or what measurements you use to determine how to get the light perfectly straight

Sorry didn't mean to skip that part. If I remember correctly I lined up the light and then marked it on the inside with a sharpie. Then I used a center punch and a small 1/8 bit with a right angle attachment to allow me to drill it from the inside. Then once the small hole was made, I drill a bigger hole with a 5/16 bit to allow for alignment, then used 1/4 20 ss bolts with lock nut to secure.

I know as a retired police officer most states don’t allow you technically to run that light bar with high beams on. Some states don’t allow you to technically use the light bar on the road period because it blinds people.
