I posit that the vertical laying of the white tile in the emergency stair shaft was due to the higher curvature of the inner wall - placing the tiles horizontally there would result in both ends sticking out away from the wall. And as the inner wall was so done, it made sense to match the outer wall with the same vertical tiling.

The tile is flat and therefore keeps a more uniform distance from the wall when applied if vertical, Horizontally on the outside wall will be a greater gap in the centre of the tile, and on the inner wall, the ends of the tile would also stick out from the wall.

Also, I was looking back through the photos I shot of the ticket hall after my tour, and it looks like they changed the sign above the world map from “What’s the Time?” to “The World Time Today”. The lettering looks the same, and the map appears to be the same too. (11:10) Weird!

@37:20 and forward... I've gone back multiple times to review the footage. There's a disconnect with the believable narrative...that concrete was formed with plywood! Ostensibly 4' X 8', albeit more recent sizes used for forming (and specially coated for the task to make them reusable and release) are larger. I don't know when their use was started in the UK, but I'd be very surprised if that was original construction. That being said, if this is original construction, this would have been a pioneering use of it in the UK for this purpose....a story in and of itself.

Indeed! @41:13 and forward, note that is clearly *plywood* and the pouring and setting technique is modern (last five decades or so). albeit again, perhaps this was being pioneered in early London tube construction, but I remain highly dubious.
