The pens work well on the frisk Bristol board we got in a previous box. I didn't use water but they do blend nicely with each other when layered. 😊

This is a 'meh' box for me. I googled the pentel pens and they're still expensive for what they are. I don't like the feel of the tips either. I also wish they'd included a Uniball Signo white pen instead of the Frisk gel pen. I've got loads of boxes I've opened but not played with yet as my puppy has been taking all my attention, but now he's maturing a bit, I might get a chance to do some art! 😂

Oh how I have missed your videos! Hopefully there will be baby cow videos when things calm down a bit! I actually like the color palate for this. I know it's muted but I kinda like the coordination. Feels really cohesive. And I LOVE the features art work. There is something just so pleasing about it. And you are right, reminds me of food!

I like what you said about the box being good for someone just starting out with art. I've decided to cancel my subscription this year, because I just have so many art stupplies and some of them I barely ever use. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I do think a lot of folks are at saturation point and money could be put to better use. When we moved last year, it made me realise how much I had and wasn’t using!

@@TheColourCave I think I'll come to that same realisation when I get to pack up my room and move into my own place upstairs this year 😅 maybe I'll get the occasional ScrawlrBox from the shop, if they still put them out that way then. If it's something I want to try

@@TheColourCave upcrate and scrawlrbox are both subscription services, right? so they have that in common and upcrate started the whole "I hate those typos" thing 😂 now scrawlrbox is gathering more and more typos too.. can only be that upcrate infected them 😂(this was an example of Thia logic lol)

Hullo Gem, I had a class dotting project in my younger years and I tried one in college too. I do not like the pointillism technique, I get tired just looking at pictures done with this technique! The famous Island of La Grande Jatte by Georges Seurat is the loveliest version of this, but it was his milieu and NOT MINE! I do admire anyone who is able to work like this, well done young Lady!

Those pens are definitely not the best. There are so many water based brush pens out there, so it is hard for a certain brand to stand out. I really like Pitt pens from Faber Castell. Anyhow, I love your hidden gem piece!
