I literally used the canon to do a real precise shot into the wall for the parkour and I was so accomplished...then it gives me a 1 up. I promised I wouldn’t look up the stars, but that broke me. I’m literally at 117 and I broke my streak.

Who wasn’t trying to hit all the bombs with starbits? Logically, the bombs don’t explode differently, individually, when they’re hit with starbits as shells. The level gives you plenty of starbits and why, for some magical reason, are the neighboring bombs affected by one that’s been hit by a shell but not a starbit?
