I wonder if there had been a scrap smelter/ foundry near that canal during or after WWII? They could have used canal boats/ barges to bring scrap metal there. They then would use an electro magnet mounted on a boom crane to unload the boats, and those kind of magnetic unloading units tend to drop a lot of scrap when picking up.

Think the 3" and 4" round bar is offcuts from overhead line shafting, and the filter thing at 35.15 looks like a strainer from hydraulic return line.

Hmmm So the factory or area behind you was a smelting Place ? They cast things, The Iron came down by boat and were cast, unloading was heavy labour and stuff got dropped, Also heavy stuff got dropped loading Flanges, Wheels, Fire hooks that swivel onto the fire flat things with hooks on 🤔, just an observation
