Marianne is so brilliant and enlightened

It's so overdue. M.W. is the only person in this political cycle who is trying to make sense of and offer insights into our current upside-down world. She is the standout candidate with actual ideas about what might help in every area of society. Listening to her, I find myself recognizing old truths that I've held over the decades. When she speaks about her life , so many points of reference surface and a small lightbulb glimmers in the back of my brain. I don't feel that when I hear Trump, RFK,Biden,Newsome,Desantis or any other person on the stump. It's only because this cycle has so divided and enraged our political instincts that she's not even being heard. All I can hope is that you give her a fair hearing and suspend your cynicism for a moment. Good luck M.W.

My father worked in database design. He said that tech geniuses serve the code in a way that supersedes, any human consideration. Not only did they not consider ethics, but they didn't consider the user friendliness of the technology.

I really hope that Marianne does not regret her viral moment of saying that "Love will Win". As Niko House said after the Miami debates, "What did she say that's wrong? We *do* need more love in our public policy. and Marianne did would Tulsi *should* have done. "

I keep using Gilbert Williams painting to visualise peace. I think clean water and infrastructure are really key. Also consider what else military bases could be used for if they were disarmed and repurposed.

Born in 1959, I also read Baba Ram Das, the electric koolaid acid test , and Stranger in a Strange land! I dreamed that we could right the wrongs that are so evident in our world . But , it has been a long haul to raise my family ( four children)- now I have retired. Now I see my life’s primary theme, has been to prepare for the eternal afterlife described by Jesus , and Carlos Casteneda ! Also , I am a conservative who hates the corporate War machine that runs the country no matter who we elect !

"Have you had a chance to get some rest?" That is a more loaded question than it seems. From what I've seen, I doubt she has been resting.

Don't forget that this kind of concern about new innovations is not new. The druids did not trust the written word. TV was regarded with the same consternation when it started killing the radio star. While I think the concerns about AI are valid, I also want to point out, that any new technology, or for that matter, wisdom in any field, can be used for good or ill.

In 1962 my parents bought their first house for 29,000. I was forced to rent for 80 percent of my adult life, because we went off the Gold standard under Nixon !

Great episode. Definitely a little "Off brand" for the usual Hidden Forces guests, as you tend to have more right-leaning guests on, and definitely almost none from the "cultural left", so this was definitely a break from the usual (in many ways)

I had a look at the past episode list and there have been quite a few guests one could describe as being on the left (or at least the centre left): Steve Keen, Johann Hari, Andrew Marantz, Rana Faroohar, Adam Tooze, Noreena Hertz, Marianna Mazzucato, Tom Burgis, Scott Galloway. (Maybe there are even more -I hadn't heard of everyone.)

Maryanne , you are like Biden in that you would not have to fight in these external Wars, as an ex marine, that would have fallen to me as a young man !

What is your point? She is recognizing how many people are struggling. Is anyone else trying to help?

With the disappearance of Christian Morals - there is a vacuum of moral values, the powerful do not plan to give up their power, because this Life is all they believe in !

I don't think it's difficult to understand that in 2022 the average CEO salary was 344 times that of the average worker and in the 1960's the average CEO salary was only 21 times that of the average worker. Similarly, the corporate tax rate today is 21% and in the 1960's was much higher at 52%. Both parties today champion a tax structure that favors wealthier individuals. It's also not difficult to understand that many politicians in office are beholden to their corporate donors/lobbyists at the expense of the middle class. Lastly, even the lowest information voter can understand that the DNC and corporate Dems, a party that purports to champion democracy, are suppressing the vote, as well as holding on to corporate power, by their current strategy of refusing debates and in some cases Democratic primaries. It's not my intention to insult your dog--but Ms. Williamson has valid points on many issues.

Good, maybe ask your dog to explain to you what Marianne is talking about.
