Wow what a awesome video. Chad I wouldnt know anything about a farm if it wasnt for you. The farm is so beautiful.You have the most informative videos and they are so enjoyable. It was wonderful seeing Billy and Bobby and I love it when you call Bobby that is so so adorable. I love all the beautiful animals. I love watching your videos and it makes me appreciate living in Louisiana. We have snow on occasion but thats it. Snow is so beautiful but alot to contend with as you have shown us. We have bad summers that last forever and that is of course hard to cope with too but we are inside because its to hot to go out. You work so hard all the time and that is so impressive. You are amazing person. Chad please be careful and take care of yourself. God Bless you Chad and your wonderful family

Aww YOU are turning into one of our favourite viewers and we look out for your comments now. I know what you mean when u say hot cause my Darlin is from the Philippines and I’ve been there several times and I can’t even tie my shoes without sweating…I watch movies in the ac. We’ve never been to Louisiana only Florida. Glad that you’re enjoying the videos. I can’t wait for spring now to get our garden going and no snow.

This is our first yar on our new homestead. We're new to snow, and it has been an education, for sure!

Good luck to u. Some days the cold is not that bad, but my goal in developing the farm is to stay outside for the shortest amount of time.

Oh geez 🙄 the only way I can relate to living and working in these conditions is how I felt on all my ski weeks in the mountains. With the wind chill and lack of sunshine up there, I totally relate to your work conditions. But, that balaclava though…….. I have never seen one like yours! My saving grace…….. I was the only one who had heaters in their ski boots which saved EVERY super cold day when I switched them on/off during the day. I bought crampons about 15 years ago and have never had to use them thank goodness! It’s a good thing the poop freezes so it doesn’t smell as much. You should try ski goggles on the windy days Chad; it will make a world of difference! Stay warm friends 🔥

Haha the ski goggles come out when it’s extremely cold and sleeting out, gotta protect the eyes 👀 The wind chill just makes the winter worse, without it temps are tolerable. It’s a bonus that I run hot too lol.

Thank you for your candid videos! I was binging on farming videos and started dreaming of having my own farm, but thank you for making it candid- it discouraged me from making any rash decisions :) Really enjoy your videos, thank you for sharing your farm life!

Awesome video. We aren’t used to the cold and the snow and our free range chickens have been cooped up for a few days now. Yikes! They don’t love it. 😮😊❤

Lordy, you northerners are an awesome bunch. I could never do it. We get below zero F a couple of times a winter and I hate it. This makes me miss my 30 years in Florida. Thanks for sharing. Love todays video. Becky from Kansas City

When I travel to the Philippines with my Darlin I feel like I'm melting it's so hot. lol. It dips really frigid sometimes but for the most part I'm ok, like today I was outdoors for over 6 hours chainsawing and pruning trees. I'm sure hot blooded lol.

Hi Chad! How’s it going, eh? Great video topic! I love seeing your cats, dogs and farm animals. Haha! Yes, in Canada we love our toques! Layers, layers... haha... Lot’s of animal manure to deal with! I expect you can add all of it to the compost pile. But may need to be careful around harvest time. I’ll be dealing with all of these - mostly the ice and snow - when I move to northern BC. Fun topic!

Yeah this summer I’m gonna work real hard on composting, for now it’s piling up. Must be exciting for you planning out your next adventure.

Do those boots come with that stuff on the bottom for grip or did you buy that and stick them on? Also, how cold does it get where you live on average in the winter? Awesome video, very informative!
@HiddenSpringFarm2 жыл бұрын
No those grip things on the boots are added and just stretch over the bottom, it really helps too. Well there r two types of cold, temperature and wind chill. The coldest I’ve seen it is minus 36c that’s including wind chill. It’s usually somewhere between 2c and -10.
@SarahLynnLee2 жыл бұрын
Okay, we have had that same sort of weather here in Kansas City this year. We had -35 degree windchill. I def need those things on my boots to walk my sheepdog! She likes to pull me down the icy streets, lol! My dog looks like your Molly by the way! 😃
