Man i been fishing hartwell since a boy and i could look at the surroundings and know all the spots you fished. I remember as a 14yr old having a boat and paying someone to haul me to the ramp to fish Wednesday and Friday night tournaments out of poplar springs on hartwell. Im 53 now.

Congrats on the 5th place scott. To get in top 10 of a bass open is very hard to do for anyone. The BASS opens are the most stacked, competitive series of tourney fishing. Especially the South and East divisions. Roughly 200 anglers every tourney all fighting to prove they have what it takes to go pro. Its fun to watch. Just proves how talented you are to be able to get solid finishes and be successful in different tourney series.

I just love this ol lake hartwell i been fishing it regularly since i was 10 or 12 way up the tugaloo river about 4 miles from yonah dam it can be tough at times but very rewarding if paid close attention to the changes from day to day!

Good to see you are taken a full mixed arsenal for tomorrow❗👍 Lessons learned, so any weather changes can't stop you 💯🎯❗ One thing I have noticed is the "havin' fun factor" actively present during your on-board practice days. I only mention this factor because during the actual tournament days that super charged positive energy gets sidelined a little when the stakes are so high. I wonder, can the fish pick up on a fisherman's emotions like animals can? Many military sailors believe they can. Of course the business of pro fishing is hughly high but the winning powerhouse combo might be the blend of skills, timing, and even that tiny little extra dosage of "havin' fun factor" out there❗ I have no doubt that you and the team will figure it all out👍. Hartwell is an ok lake but there are actually 3 lakes right there. Jocassee starts at the top and has the nicest clearest water. Jocassee flows into lake Keowee and it’s got some pretty water too. Then Keowee flows I to Hartwell and it’s got some pretty brown water from being the bottom lake. They are all beautiful lakes but Jocassee has the best water and Keowee has the nicest houses in my opinion. Hartwell is probably the best for fishing though but the other two lakes are definitely worth checking out if you have an extra day or two in the area.
