good comment.. though you know, if you believe the rumours then it was 'drink AND die' for him, which is quite the opposite of 'drink or die'. no one should advocate drinking, like he is doing in this song. i'm saying this become i've come to love hide very much, and it pains me so much that a total genius like him is dead (i've discovered him now, after his death.)

The only way drinking would directly cause his death is if he died of alcohol poisoning. Too many variables are involved with his case to know what really went down. Some people think he was already suicidal :\ He liked to drink and wrote a song about it, I don't see the problem there. People write songs about stuff they like all the time, and people can choose to listen or not to.

Quite possibly, because he would have been tired anyway. It probably happened when he was passed out -- otherwise, if he was awake and choking, you think he woulda gotten out of it... so if he wasn't drunk, and was heating his neck with the towel and fell asleep, it probably would have happened still. :\ Bah... speculation. it still sucks that a great performer and musician was taken at such a young age.

yeah,but hide was wrong,and im a fan and everything but i dont think he was a god,he was like anyone,and everybody can make mistakes. he drinked alcohol to forget all of his stress and everything,but to be happy because of a drug,i prefer to be sad and think how to overcome the situation.(i cant explain well cause i dont know english very well)

Actually, from what I understand, hide died because he accidentally strangled himself with a towel. Mind you, he was trying to relax with a warm towel to the neck, but he was drunk when he was doing it... so it's not like he drunk drove and crashed or got really drunk and shot himself or anything. His death was accidental, and was not directly because of the alcohol, though it did contribute to it. I also heard he drank because he had cancer and it "killed the pain". Rumor though.

How about instead of focusing on how he died, we focus on how to live? Instead of abusing alcohol, learn to be responsible. I really doubt Hide would want people to ban alcohol from their lives because it may or may not have played a part in his death. Enjoy yourselves, but know your limits.
