As a 17 year old guy, this scene hit me right in the the heart. It pushed me to the edge, and i almost felt like crying. Makes you feel so distanced from when you were younger. Beautiful film, I cannot give enough credit to spike jonze.

I saw this movie 11 years ago. When I have 18 years old. My life in this time is a mess. I was born in a bad family. This movie hit me so hard I cried when I saw. My childhood is not great but my heart it is. Karen o songs make my life all this year's.

Max Reynolds, the boy who plays in this terrific movie, is probably by far one of the most lucky people in the world. Cute, a great actor, and he got to play in Where The Wild Things Are. I'd say that's pretty lucky to me

"It was gonna be a place where only the things you _wanted_ to have happen would happen" I think we all wanted a place like that as kids. Hell, adults still want a place like that. The biggest things humans crave is control.

Yes! Some people don't get it, and I just don't know how to explain them. It's either you get it or you don't, I guess. But I'm glad I'm not the only one that cries with that story!

I actually experienced a realization like that in the real world sense with my mom. I noticed she was starting to have less teeth than she used to have and she literally told me, "Well, I'm getting old" and that made me realize, "Holy crap, my mom is getting old." and I'm not gonna have her forever, you know?

It's how I feel with certain friends now, like were all growing apart with time. It's a great analogy from a kids perspective of what that feeling represents, at least for me.

@DarqueMyth Its because in some countries they film things in a slower frame rate to other countries, and so it often means they get sped up slightly when played in other countries, which usually results in an upwards pitch of one semitone. So technically you are hearing the whole movie one semitone higher than it actually should be, voices and all included.
