However, exploitive #labor conditions and destructive #environmental practices have brought international criticism and sanctions. "Hides to Hope: Transforming Bangladesh's Industry" showcases our pioneering efforts to advance decent work and sustainable working conditions in the #tannery sector of Bangladesh.
Collaborating with tannery workers, factory owners, civil society organizations, community leaders, government, and other key stakeholders, the project encompasses ground-based #capacitybuilding activities for workers and supervisors and inclusive policy dialogues. Journey inside the Tannery Industrial Estate in Hemayetpur to hear first-hand accounts about past and current working conditions and how the Foundation's #transformative project has introduced hundreds of supervisors and workers to basic concepts of health and safety, waste management, and labor rights.
