Do you think the Stealth has a narrow soundstage compared to the Organic? Some people say the Arya Stealth has a super narrow soundstage.
@RobertAntonyJamesonАй бұрын
@@papoosee not super narrow at all. It is a bit smaller than other Aryas, but it remains a soundstage-relevant headphone, and it could be the most enjoyable one for longer sessions without EQ because it is the less shouty among Aryas. The widest Arya to my own perception was the first version. But if you're only looking for extreme soundstage you should just focus on the HD800s alone.

@@papoosee I haven't seen anyone say that. The V2 is considered a monstrous sound stage and the complaint by some is that the Stealth isn't quite as big in sound stage. K2 isn't as high as Everest but that doesn't mean it's a "super tiny mountain"

9:00 Hey Resolve, i take it you meant the HE1000 Stealth here, not SE. In addition to this review and many others, as an owner of the HE1000 Stealth and SE, I personally believe the Stealth has the very best tuning I've heard from ANY headphone at ANY price. And I've heard and owned a lot of them. The SE has more air, better detail (by far) and IMO a cleaner sound. And it can be EQd so incredibly easily to match just about any other signature. It takes EQ so well. But the HE1000 Stealth has a whole tuning vibe that I cannot describe. You will love it if you get one to extensively review. I am sure of it.

The bass boost phenomenon you mentioned at @00:12:00 from sound leaking from the earcups, I can confirm. The cause is a phenomenon known as **air loading** ie. air pressure buildup and is due to Hifiman's choice of diaphragm material as well as its thickness. Although the diaphragm successfully achieves the desired lightening fast transient response it is not quite stiff enough to overcome the air damming effect that the air pressure buildup causes so it cannot maintain the boosted bass frequencies experienced during sound leak situations. I mentioned this to Hifiman and you know what their solution was: EQ !! :P I quite like the boosted levels and have successfully reproduced it by removing the OEM earcups and then cutting stiff foam in the shape of open rings which resemble the letter C, which allows a place for the sound to leak and placing them between my ears and the drivers. It's spontaneous and impermanent but effective. What I really need is a resourceful individual with a 3D printer and some idle time to print up side-vented acrylic earcups...
@TheHEADPHONEShowАй бұрын
So on the organic, we test this and actually found it to be a driver mode, given the driver Fs is lower down with an air gap. With the HEK unveiled, the resonance frequency is also around 30hz, similar to many hifimans. But yes this effect can be utilized in tuning with certain modifications.

These headphones are for people who have like a different table with just a DAC/AMP and a headphone both sitting in separate cases that they take out for an hour long session of focused listening, and then put them away in their cases once they are done. The cover definitely makes me better since you can just put the covers on and then sit them on the table, but these aren't for quick and dirty listening at all.
