What? No tilt test with Weighted Dummies in the seats to simulate a bus filled with passengers?
@gopalkrishansharma847210 жыл бұрын
this was not a complete crash test,this is waste of 1 new bus.
@Alex46204712 жыл бұрын
That only tests the static rollover safety. In real life the bus will be travelling at speed and the impact stresses much different and necessarily much higher. In terms of practical safety, this test proves very little.

Nice test. But such a test should have been done with a bus in motion. Drive it up to a speed of 80km/h or even 100km/h and then...... up a ramp to flip it. THAT would have been a test close to reality. Only by neglecting physics it can't be cheated. A bus in motion has a totally different, means much harder, impact on the vehicle structure, than a bus lifted by a crane till it falls over. But...... regardless of this test and it's procedure. Let's say, this bus is quite strong and quite safe. What is all this safety shit good for, if the drivers regularly push a bus up to the engine limit? I'm in China now for more than 10 years and I also have a car. You have to drive at least up to about 125-130km/h just to catch up with a Chinese coach (not city bus). What do these morons want to prove? That a Chinese bus can drive faster than a European bus? Trust me, they can do that speed too. But, to avoid fatal accidents, in Europe there is a speed limit of 100km/h for busses on a motorway. It's not, because they can't drive faster, you morons. It's to avoid accidents. And even if you try to alter test results or fake some tests or make them easier to pass, you will never be able to cheat physics. Example: A bus about 15 t / speed 80 km/h This bus has a kinetic energy of about 3696 kJ at 80km/h. This bus has a kinetic energy of about 5752 kJ at 100km/h. This bus has a kinetic energy of about 9030 kJ at 120km/h. [ (mass / 2) x ( speed m/s x speed m/s) ] (formula available online) This bus has a kinetic energy of about 67,5 kJ when it's flipped over with a crane at about 2m/s. I think, there is a significant difference between about 67 and about 3690. Any test with vehicles should be done close to reality and really possible accidents, as well as with the REAL vehicles, and not with some prepped and chopped pre-production-stuff.

In Brazil, we consider 6 standing people per square meter plus seated people when designing a new bus. All of them 65kg heavy. If they are fatter, so they need more space, keeping the result more or less precise. Fully laden buses usually need more than 30º to roll over on this test. Even double decker coaches can stand 31º. This roughly corresponds to 0,5g of lateral acceleration.

i love sideway tilt test, very excellent!
@sideslip2threshold11 жыл бұрын
As some have said before this is a static test.' Real life' has adverse cambers, bumps and momentum. This test seems to be done empty. Unladen weight of such a bus coach is usually between 7000-11000kg. Coaches are usually operated at near maximum occupancy. This can add around 4000kg of passenger weight, raising the centre of gravity and causing an earlier rollover on two counts. A higher centre of gravity and a greater inertia of the vehicle coming into a curve too fast.

Difference between King Long and Higer?
@Alex46204711 жыл бұрын
You'd be surprised how easily a bus can roll over even at slow speed. The trucks I drive for a living (with a very similar centre-of-gravity) can potentially be rolled over at under 20kph - depot speeds. But, on the highway, high speed is another destructive component in any rollover crash, easily tearing apart any structure that might otherwise have survived well intact. The test complies fully with the rules, but, as I said once before, it doesn't prove much beyond static shell strength.

Patented ERW is a better platform to save lives with super efficient, high speed, airless, run damaged ability. Better rollover protection. Double digit efficiency gains for logistics and fuel savings.

Yes, but is there tilt the whole car outrushing while inshooting? That is the real question.
@flxibl200812 жыл бұрын
That is very helpful. The next time a bus suddenly tips over while sitting still you know you are safe. Wonder what happens if the bus is moving? Sometimes busses need to move from place to place so they can tip over in a new location.

@tellucas12 жыл бұрын
Tilt test is interesting I would have been more impressed if they had induced an over steer turnover at speed. This test isn't realistic because the bus won't be stationary when it turns over in a real accident. They should also test the bus crashing into obstacles that are present on a typical highway like trucks,cars,barriers ect.

When the bus actually has people in it, then the combined weight of the passengers will raise the buses center of gravity higher off the ground and the bus will fall over at a much lower angle. They should have tied 80 kg weights to every chair to get real results.

This test is a complete waste of time, This Bus/Coach has no overheat consoles or roof lining, so this test proves nothing. An overhead console if not fitted properly could kill its passengers, so why haven't they tested the Bus/Coach with a complete interior! Also that tilt test was terrible, UK Double Decker buses from decades ago could do that and better!
