@Team HI TECH - Kaushik & Rohith many things. 1 is larger mAh lipos, we have a video where we fly on 5100mAh and fly for close to 6 minutes. But also throttle management. On this flight we were playing with slow flight which consumes more battery. This wasn't a flight where we werent doing normal style flying
@MotionRC4 жыл бұрын
@Team HI TECH - Kaushik & Rohith flight times and battery sizes are on a bell curve. Eventually you get to a point where too much weight will decrease flight time. We've flown it on 6000 packs (video coming soon) and pushed over 7 minutes. But not sure on that battery size
@MotionRC4 жыл бұрын
@Team HI TECH - Kaushik & Rohith not sure how you mean, but edfs used to be the case where 3 minutes was excellent, but the flight time on this size EDF jet is pretty revolutionary. Other twin edfs of this size don't fly nearly as long

Nice! My 2 cents: Next time you may want to try high alpha with flaps up though... Flaps-down limits the 'stable envelope' of the jet when building up AoA. With flaps up you will likely be able to achieve stable sustained high alpha at higher angles of attack with less wing-rocking ;)

@chrisklueppel834 жыл бұрын
Hi, you made it wrong for the high alphas. You used positiv flaps, a positiv flap changes the airfoil-chord, so in general, the nose wants to go down, the normal angle of attack is arrount 5° of the airfoil-chord to the airflow. So if you use positiv flaps, you can't get the nose realy high, stall-angle is fixed to the chord-angle, not the fuselage. 2. a postitiv Flap reduces the max. angle of attack before stall So, use negativ Flaps: - The nose will pitch up, because of the "new" airfoile-chord - You can reach much higher angles, because the stall will be at much higher angles of attack (alpha) Positiv Flaps are only good, if you are slow and you need more lift, for climbing in thermals (I do real sailplane gliding as well), but if you are to fast, the produce more drag than lift.
@MotionRC4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment but I've never seen this attempted with an EDF jet before. Would love to see it
@racerx600rr4 жыл бұрын
Critical angle of attack ( angle at which the wing stalls) does not change with flaps, only with slats. Since this model does not have slats adding flaps does not affect the ability to reach critical AOA but does add lift and drag enabling the aircraft to turn and descend into our field.
@chrisklueppel834 жыл бұрын
@@MotionRC I fly my 90mm Freewing with negativ flaps in high alpha and it flys realy nice in this konfig and I can lift the nose more. After a Grass-Landing the nose gear is broken and I build up an F-14 at the moment, so the F-16 has to wait
@chrisklueppel834 жыл бұрын
@@racerx600rr if the angle of attack in accordance to the profile chord changes, maybe you are true, but an airfoul with a lower airfoil chord will react better to a stall, but other problem. In general, yes, flaps produces more lift and drag, perfect for landing and slow fly bys, but not for high-alpha-maneuvers, if the fuselage is the reference. If you want to show, how slow you can fly her, than, positiv flaps and nose high as possible is ok!

@@MotionRC It looks like she really flies nice with 4000 (I mean when doing circles around like in the video) and 4 mins flight time is good, too. Landings look very nice.
