About this station building. 1. Please keep the part where guests can walk over the coaster. It's the best spot for building anticipation. 2. The wall at the side where riders enter the train is a good idea. You could make the openings have less width or make it a solid wall with pillars supporting the wall. You might wanna change the General shape of the building. Also, one of the textures/used materials need to get out.

Yup, I agree with all of your suggestions. This was classic "throw spaghetti and see what sticks." Thanks for the input!

Great terrain work! I’m very impressed. Also, for the station you could look at Geekism’s recent adventure coaster in his very tiny park. The way he uses the temple pieces looks so good and natural.

I totally forgot this project never got finished! I remember LOVING the first two parts, I’m thrilled to see it back from the archives. As far as the station, it might help to decide on a specific real-world inspiration or location to draw reference from? The grasslands biome and some of that new fencing around the back evoke central Africa to me, kind of a Busch Gardens Tampa flavor. But maybe this is more like the American southwest (Anasazi, Pueblo Verde) or Mesopotamia to you. Whatever it may be, I think dialing in to something a little less broad than “ancient temple” will help eliminate options and pull you in a clearer direction. With regard to the closest Disney equivalents, the two Indiana Jones Adventure dark rides (California and Tokyo) and Expedition Everest’s queue and lift hill theming might serve as solid theme-park-ified references. Everest and California’s IJA definitely take a more colorful approach with their Buddhist temple themes, while Tokyo’s IJA is more muted but draws inspo from Aztec architecture, which is maybe closer to what you’re going for here? Looking forward to the next update!

This is such great advice. Thank you--I also think it's trending in an African vibe, so I should start narrowing my scope. Good call.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril seems like an obvious place to look for inspiration. Please share your process for getting the station to where you want it. Just about every station I made in PC1 always got stuck in the I'm-not-happy-with-this gutter.

Good shout--I'll check it out. And yeah, I'll break it down a bit in the next vid.

Station suggestion… maybe an archeological dig site with the temple ruins providing structure. Maybe even some open air, partially open, canvas usage?

Also, nice to see this ride return! I remember when you started this one! Didn’t realize it was 2017 😅

Yeah, I think going "full temple" is the wrong approach. Thanks for the suggestion.

That indoor section gave me inspiration. When Planet Coaster 2 is out I might try my hand at an indoor coral caves design using the Ocean theme.
@maskedbandit1023 ай бұрын
Actually, yeah that'll work real well, especially with the recolorable aquatic rocks.

Loved seeing this vid from you buddy. You know me. I love a bit of bold colour. Embrace it. Even if it's just a lick of accent colour, it can elevate what you have. Love your stuff as always

Yeah, I'm gonna try to be more "bold" with this design. Thanks for stopping by, always happy to see you 'round the community.

The queue for Templo del Fuego in PortAventura is this old temple half ruined with a camp for archeologists. Gives the opportunity to break things up and alternate between the bulky temple pieces and some wooden structures and corrugated roofs. For a storytelling point of view, it does make sense as those mine carts could be used to move the dirt during the recent excavations.

That's a great idea. I'll check it out, thanks!

Love this little project! Great to see you being so active in this game again because well.. You are great at it haha! As for the station, maybe you can draw some inspiration from the Alhambra in Grenada (Spain)? The interior has some really nice patterns while the outside could be great as an inspiration for the shape :)
@maskedbandit1023 ай бұрын
Ohh, that's interesting. I've actually been to the Alhambra. I'll have to look at some of my old photos, haha.

Arabian or Indian architecture might be good. Like a bazaar. Silv's Arobats of Arabia has a lot of that different type of architecture. Also, I know its cliché, but the buildings in Disneyland Adventureland would also be good inspiration.

Id start a Mayan-esce Tempel by establishing the Layers and huge Steps. So far it looks like you startet with some really detailed interrior stuff without knowing your outher boundaries of the building first. Thank you for showing a not succesful build aswell, we all need that remidner sometimes.

can't wait until we don't have to use the track ride gentle slope technique in planco 2. worth the preorder alone!

I hope so! Forcing the terrain to match the paths will help a lot.

weird thing, but what if... you have the queue go underneath the brake run into a temple, the queue would then curve around to the right to a staircase to go back up to the station level. This part of the queue circles around overhead of a deep hole in the temple; maybe with something special at the bottom idk. the brake run would be built on top of a temple wall of sorts, idk. but this whole space would be enclosed somehow. just a thought I had.
@maskedbandit1023 ай бұрын
That's a SUPER cool idea but I wonder if it's beyond the scope of this project? Thanks, though. I'm sure I'll incorporate some of those awesome ideas.

Love the gem cave style for this mine. How about a snow white 7 dwarves style station like "Mystery Mine" Dollywood style. Or maybe Juvelen Coaster theme style. I shared pic on BN - Visual Resources. Hope it helps. Keep up the wonderful work. 😎

It’s probably not the best choice for reference, but when I saw your station I got Shrine of the Silver Monkey vibes from that overlook. I’m not saying to use Legends of the Hidden temple as reference. But I’m also not, not saying it.
