Dan feng tried to save baiheng life using prohibited interracial dragon voodoo which ended up a disaster spawning an abomination while killing thousands. It was after they put down the monster that bailu was created, possibly reincarnated from the monster. If that's not confirmation enough just look at bailu and baiheng side by side.
