Wouldn’t you want to clearance the pistons before you have them balanced? Your removing material which ofcourse will effect the weight and throw off the balance. I’m sure it’s very small amount but with how fast they reciprocate every bit makes a difference. Not trying to hate just making an observation.

Yes, that would be ideal. Didn't find out I would have that issue until after I I had the crank balanced. I did weigh before and after taking material off. About 1 gram per pistons. Engine shop said as long as it was less than 3 grams per pistons it wouldn't make a difference. Engine shop mentioned that once oil is sling all over the crank, rods that your rotating assembly isn't neutral balanced anyway. I also opted for the ATI balancer which probably also helps with any harmonics. The engine runs awesome, very responsive!
