The biggest issue i have with the holley ecu range is the fact that to get more than 4 IO you have to get the dominator and not everyone needs or wants as much IO as the dominator has. I really wish they had an intermediate ecu. I love my termi x setup though.

I'll usually agree but in this instance, there no sense in buying capability you aren't going to use. If you're running a manual trans car with cable throttle body there absolutely no reason to buy the Terminator X Max (max does transmission control and drive-by-wire throttle body). If you don't have a use or need for all the logging and input/output ability of the Dominator or HP theres no point in spending WELL OVER 2X the price of terminator.

Thank you for the class! I do have one question: is there a reason why you can’t run the NTK O2 sensor on the Terminator since the harness is already pinned for it? I’m looking to go EFI and after watching all your vids, Holley Terminator is the way to go for my street car. Again, thank you for sharing your time and knowledge with us.

What are typical inputs? My son purchased a track car already complete. We are not well versed in cars, including this one. It was suggested to toss the original ECU and get a Terminator X. I'm not sure what an input would be and if the four offered by the Terminator X would be enough.

HELP, I just purchased the Terminator Xmax to control my 6.0 In my squarebody. I want to adapt a complete 2008 radiator and electric fan setup to my truck but the fans have low and High speeds. I also will be adding Vintage air system. My ECU has a total of 4 I/O’s. Can the Holley ECU be setup to control a 2 Speed fan setup? All I ever could find was simple On/off function based on temps. I’m bout to get a nosebleed from this.

the wiring is minor whats the difference in software? which will integrate with can bus? Which has both digital and analog inputs and outputs and whats the difference with dash connectivity? sensors also change every year sometimes what is compatible and what years are not? and what kind of safety systems do they work with such as abs, traction control, keyless entry ect. hard to listen to a guy whose explanation of the differences is simply "this one more money's" there is alot more to this but cant seem to find any info

What about going from a 24x to a 58x? I know they say you can swap a few pins and change the settings on the ecu. But I’ve seen a few people one being a close friend which he swapped pins and changed settings yet it still wouldn’t work at all.

Plenty of guys just fill out the wizard on the handheld and let it auto tune and it works great. It's not going to make as much power as a good tuner making an optimized tune, but you'll go up and down the road safely and have plenty of fun.

@Chris Farley if it got hydrolocked, it probably wasn't the tune. Stuck injector or shorted injector wire hanging an injector open would. Unless some idiot gave it way too much cranking fuel.
