September 3rd Opening Day of archery season I arrowed my first archery mule deer buck up at 10,000 ft of elevation hunting solo. I hit him in the back of one lung and the liver I got excited and shot early as I was moving my pins right to left over to his vitals. Fortunately he only went 20yds from the shot then fell about 40yds down the mnt. I heard him crash as I was backing out but knowing I likely hit stomach or liver I still backed out and watched waited untill the sun would hit where I thought he would be dead. Then I went back and found he didn't go far at all. Wasted no time cutting him up and getting him to a crick to cool down the meat.
