Nothing big? Think again. Refusals are the norm at Agnes in my experience and according to others I've chatted with. I think they are extremely line-shy in the crystal water, especially in bright sun. The one time I had good success there, it started out with pure frustration as a huge cuttie appeared out of nowhere, bypassed the fly and made a casual derisive grab for the garishly colored FLOAT! Felt like it was mocking me. No, I'm SURE it was. ;-> Hundreds of frustrating barren casts later, and after a brief squall of chilly rain and graupel, in the lingering overcast the bite suddenly turned on for me and I caught in quick succession a pair of flamboyant TANKS on a deep purple woolley bugger, beefy 15 and 16 inchers, challenging to net on 6x tippet. What a thrill! Great video, thanks!

How did you get the ice jig out there with no weight on the line?

A light rod and very light Berkley NanoFil line which handles light lures extremely well.

I hate it when people call big fish a slob instead of a slab. A slob is a mess person whereas a slab means a big piece of something. What is up with that?

Great video Chad. Did you ever find out if you were catching Colorado Cutts, Greenback Cutts or Westslope Cutts on Lake Agnes?

Not definitively...there is not a consensus among the biologists I talked with.
