Exceeded my expectations for something that's supposed to represent a whole orchestra. Very impressive.

Nah, the only really difficult part is 2:59, and of course all the fast parts for left hand if you ignore your left hand while practicing such parts like me. xD Seriously, though, I'm really glad you gave me the notes to that piece, I haven't had a single day without playing it for... quite a while now. And it still hasn't lost its magic. :)

Quick question: if someone were to ask you to read the ending of a book, and write a piece that captures the mood and emotions, would you be able to do that?
@Composer19928 жыл бұрын
Yes, I would be able to do something like that for sure. It would be like film scoring. :)

How much would it cost to commission something like that?

It depends on how long you want it to be and if you want it to be just piano or with more instruments, which is something I can do too! You could tell me what you're thinking of spending and I can tell you what I can do for that. :) Feel free to email me at andrew dot wrangell at hotmail dot com if you like and we can talk about it further! :)

I did! By any chance, are you considering making a sheet for Last of the Light - BattleCry or for Evergreen - Vanquish? Both songs have nice piano sections within in them and I would really like to see your transcription of them. I know you base your videos off your patreon votes so I should probably donate in that case XP but was just wondering if you were considering those two in the future.
@Composer19927 жыл бұрын
I can put them to the vote later and people can vote for the ones they like! If you'd like to have some input, you can vote on my next arrangement(s) even if you pledge $1 per video! www.patreon.com/composer1992. I'd probably like to do some more from Vanquish because it's the newest album and I might be the first to put out a piano arrangement for some of those tracks (like I was the first with High C's). So feel free to become a patron if you like, and you get to see some exclusive stuff too. ;)

I just listened to/watched this again and synched it up with the actual piece, which was very interesting! They line up perfectly right up until the big half-note chords at 4:47, where it seems you decided to take them a little bit more slowly and broadly. I also like that you extended the little fragment of call-back melody at the very end to include the second phrase. It's actually made me wish that the original piece did that too. Good to see you not afraid to put just a little bit of your own spin on it! Oh and hey, you might recognize my name from over on the TSFH subreddit. Love your work! Subbed. :)
@Composer19927 жыл бұрын
JoeSnyderwalk Haha, yes, you commented on my Enchantress thread on Reddit! And yep, I took it slower there because it was a good place to. And I expected that extra part at the ending melody in the original High C's so I decided to include it in my video. :) The rest was at original tempo because I wanted a challenge! XD

Oh my god. I'm playing the piano since over 10 years now. I am currently learning the 3rd movement of the appassionata, played the pathetique and the moonlight sonata. But i feel like i won't be able to play that piece. Holy Moly it looks so hard depending on timing/tactfulness (don't know the english word). How long did it take you to learn? How do you learn these notes? (sixtoles, or whatever it is and how it is called in english) Are you a professional musician? How long do you play the piano?
@Composer19927 жыл бұрын
Hey there! This one was very difficult for me, very very extremely difficult and the hardest thing I've ever played! I recorded it in smaller chunks and put them together, I had to get a good take each time. So while I was able to play every part at the speed you hear, it wasn't done all in one take. It took me about 40-50 hours of work to do it, spaced over two weeks. And I've played piano since I was 5, and I'm 24 now. I'm a professional musician, yes :)
@danielwildegger75017 жыл бұрын
Andrew Wrangell Music ah okey yeah makes sense. even tho 2 weeks is a hell of a short time for that. sounds great man keep up the work its awesome
@nobodywilleverknow83713 жыл бұрын
Sixtoles are actually just two triples combined together, maybe that helps. ;) Also, for all of these n-toles, it helps to calculate how you need to play them and then start by playing them slow getting faster over a long period of time. Have you played fantasy impromptu by Chopin btw? Cuz that one is really good for learning how to deal with triole rhythms over a normal rhythm, which is basically the key to all that nonsense musicians like to make when they want to make a just really really fast scale appear like there is some semblance of order or reason to it (Jarod Radnich for example doesn't have one song without at least one 31-tole or something in that area. But playing as it feels right works for me at least in those cases xD).

measure 25 is unbalanced on treble clef. 9 32nds, 1 quarter, and 1 8th note is not enough to complete a 6/8 measure. Trying to deceive us? 😉 just kidding. But it really isn't notated correctly. In that 32nd aroeggio, it would have to be 16th, then two 32nds and repeated until the high G. :)

To be honest, it isn't as impressive as i had hoped for. Sure, translating a whole orchestra to a single piano isn't easy and all, and its praiseworthy that still something quite useable came out, but... Especially the first half has several parts that i find badly translated.
