Very good info! I generally go through the same steps but water temperature plays a big part in what I use with high water. Cold high water for me I like less action high visual baits like big marabou jigs, big spawn bags and swedish pimples. Warm water i like the spinners, hot'n tots and flat fish but Ive always hooked up with spawn or wax worms no matter what the conditions are! I prefer float fishing but still figuring out the addicted worms no luck yet but Im sure I will soon

One of the best situations for boaters because you know exactly where the fish are ...next to the bank . We will put the 8hp kicker on and run divers with spinglow and eggs backed through the seams close to the bank . Or a small pink worm behind a spin cheater if there are nates around . If the water is murky and im bank bound , ill plunk ( if the water is dropping ) because fish will be moving. I see people catch them on bobbers but where i fish they use the float to sorta back bounce . Use heavy weight and a 1 ounce bobber . Let the bobber out just a few feet from bank and stop n go the bobber to give fish a chance to find your bait . Hold it up , let it float, hold up, let go . That is quite common where i fish when its high ...but i do prefer divers in the boat , or plunking from the bank .

Good info here, I definitely don't care for fishing high water from the bank. I will when its the Only choice. And kinda looks like that will be the way it is for us in southern oregon for awhile. I might try drifting worms over next couple days.

I love bobber fishing. But if its so high I just cant. I go with side drifting yarnies. Make them bigger darker like cerise with white or orange with contrast to make them stand out. And a big yarnie will hold scent for like a hour. U can even pliunk them

the top water column is the fastest the lowest column is the slowest. if you use a bobber it will drag your presentation off the bottom I'm curious if you use a tight lining method getting your jig in the lower column with mono which sinks better and gives you more contact with the strike

I am not really sure if anyone else does this but in stead of fishing a double bead rig like I would in clearer water, I fish a double rig with bigger baits. A pink worm with a yarnie dropper or a double yarnie rig. A yarnie with a bait dropper etc. I've had a ton of success this way.

One thing I haven't seen y'all cover is yarnies, atomics and glowbugs. Do you guys not use them? Seems like there are way more colors one can make with yarn then you can find in beads. Especially when one gets into tying atomics and starts layering colors to make new colors. Plus there are no size restrictions as you can tie a glo bug as big as you want.
