Oh my gosh. Somehow I missed the very beginning of the video. When I went to play it back I learned about your poor dog. I’m so very sorry! We just lost our dog 10 days ago. It’s heart wrenching. I’ve never experienced this before. It will take a very long time to stop crying. Your video caught my attention because I have the exact same secretary desk. We live in the country and buried our fur babies out by the pond and they each have granite headstones. Morbid, maybe, but I always feel the love of my baby every time I go out and sit near her. I've been doing faux wood for a few years, using diluted varnish, I love the look its so much more attractive than using the faux wood tool, thank you for showing your version, it looks perfect 🥰

Oh, Kacha, I am so sorry to learn about your sweet little dog who I've seen in so many of your videos over two years. I deeply understand your grief. My beautiful, incredibly smart Arabian horse had to be put down 2 days before Christmas. He was only 13, very young for a horse, especially an Arabian. I can't even talk about him. Losing a beloved animal is devastating. 😭 You are very courageous to return to work in such a public way. I don't think I would be that brave. Another reason that you inspire me. 🙏🏼❤️😘

I have that exact blue broom and use it for this finish. i do use a deck staining brush before the whisk type tool. it evens out the glaze.

I use this technic with oil based i choose a white color for the base then I mixed clear varnish with some paint and I applied the trick of faux wood with my brush and I was so proud with the final result of wardrobe it looks so good

That turned out beautiful!! Just so you know, on John's furniture Repair site, Trena said those wood cut outs on the glass doors, are supposed to be on the inside of the glass.
