882s is only 1 inch longer compared to 872s they should be the close in specs. The 882s has fuji reel seat is made for inshore saltwater fishing which should be saltwater fine. 882s are also rated for braid 15-30 lbs line or mono/nylon 10-15 lbs rating. 872s is a great versatile rod idk if it would be worth getting an 882s also. 872s is goated.
