High Fender on Scrambler 400X - Install and Overview, with Mudguard Extension Too

Hey man just wanted to say thanks for doing such a detailed review on the bike and the accessories. My dad used to race triumphs back in the 70s and 80s and just got a really clean 74 trident. Im finally looking into getting my first bike and this one seems like the ticket for me. Something i can keep for short trips and some trail riding when i upgrade to something bigger.

I sold my air cooled Triumph Scrambler a few years ago and while I miss it I don't miss the weight when taking it off the pavement. I love the versatility & look of the scramblers and you are starting to get my enthusiasm going with all the cool mods. Right now I only have a Honda Trail 125 (my boy is learning to ride on a Grom 125). We live in Washington and want to go all the way down Baja California for his high school graduation next summer. We're starting to think we'll do the trip on either dual sports (KLX 300's or these much cooler Triumphs). Keep the great vids coming!

I noticed that there's a water spray from this mudguard whenever it rains or if the roads are wet. This is especially visible at night when the headlight is on. If you go faster, the water pretty much splashes on the headlight. Have you noticed this issue on your bike too?

Looks great! Let us know if you notice any change in handling at higher speeds from the high mud guard. I know that my high DR650 fender could sometimes act like a sail at higher speeds. Thanks!

Thanks! Haven't noticed any difference in handling since installation. They are relatively short and rigid.

Do you plan on removing the entire lower mudguard on summer/dry season? I plan on doing it but wasnt sure if the whole thing would come off. (the whole lower mudguard)

@TomatoRat23 you can remove the lower mud guard/fender. Not sure if I will or not.

This looks great! I know it will be totally non functional. But was thinking of installing this on my Speed 400. Would it be possible to install? Will it fit on Speed 400?

@@rjb204 no. I did research and found it can’t be fitted on the speed that easily. The scrambler’s lower triple clamp is different compared to speed where the fender needs to be placed.

You can leave yours as is if you prefer. I like mine this way.
