In this video we demonstrate how to dramatically increase your garden hoses ability to shoot higher gallons per minute and shoot water much further down range. Be careful about the potential water hammer you can get by slamming that ball valve shut. And flow that high may create cavitation wear on the piping.

It appeared your 3/4" hose was much shorter than your 5/8" hose. For the timing test, that would have not been a true apples-to-apples comparisont as the time it takes for the hose to fill up is included in your timing. I think the test should have been with the water fully flowing through the hose and then moving the hose end into the container and not just relying on turning the spigot on. Also, I think you'll find that if you put the pressure gauge on the end of each hose, the readings would be close to the same. However, you'd need to ensure that there is no air in the hose for it to be a more accurate reading. So, you'd need to prime the hose.

This would t work for a frost proof spigot would it? I can't find any info on being able to modify with one of these high flow valves. What do you do in the winter to prevent freeze damage?

Putting a 1 inch ball valve on a 3/4 inch supply line would only drop your pressure

I’m going to buy an ABP 3/4 ball valve to replace my ABP 3/4 standard “arrow-breaker”hose bib like you had in the video. However I am looking for a nice hose reel to place a 50 foot 3/4 inch hose on to. The best quality reel I have found so far is made by ELEY. But I notice their feeder line which is built into the reel is a 5/8 inch copper line. Do you know of any hose reels that will allow me to get the full flow as to not restrict my “high-flow” 3/4 inch setup?

Great flow, yes, but unfortunately 3/4" hoses are HEAVY and typically a bear to roll-up.

Man that ball valve and larger 3/4 hose made a HUGE difference , hell if you wanted to get jiggy with it and really make that nozzle perform you could go to harbor freight and get an electric booster pump and double that pressure from 80 to around 160

I got a pump on Amazon just for that. Works great but I'd return it in a heart beat for 80psi at the spigot.

Whats odd is for me I got 55psi out of spigot. It took 33 seconds to fill a 5 gallon bucket with 5/8" hose and 30 seconds with 3/4" hose. From spigot it took 25 seconds. Odd the hoses werent much different though

I'm so confused, so in your video. It clearly showed that the 3/4 inch HOSE is more powerful pressure wise than a 5/8. Then why are other people claiming that the 5/8 hose has more pressure due to its smaller size??????? I'm wasting so much money trying to get my sprinklers just right. I have 3 orbit yard defenders hooked up and they work fine 1 at a time, but when I go to do a lawn water it just looses all of its pressure at the end. I"m using a 100ft to the 1st (almost have to, a 65 foot would be ideal), then a 50ft to the 2nd one, and a 35ft to the 3rd. I just want good pressure. I don't have a good high flow valve like you, but wouldn't an upgrade to 3/4 work better then?

@@FindingOurAdventure ok i just bought 3 3/4 inch hoses, a 75, 50, 25. 2 gilmours and a ag-lite (I know this one has 5/8 connections) I also ordered full flow split adapter with full flow shut offs attached to it. If this doesn't help, I'll find a way to replace the spigot

@@FindingOurAdventure last thing. You are right my bibb is restricted. The main line going outside is a 1/2 inch copper pipe to a restricted hose bibb. Will a Full Flow 1/2inch hose bibb get me good results? Or should I run a new 3/4 copper line to a 3/4 inch full flow hose bibb? ----- I would like to just do a full flow 1/2 hose bibb since its an easy replace, but if you really think I should go 3/4 inch full flow bibb running a new line, lmk.

Great video, I really appreciate you taking the time to post this! I’m in the process of running 3/4” copper to replace the 1/2” copper. The Underhill high flow nozzle has been out of stock on Amazon for a while now. The cheapest I can find it elsewhere is $105. Do you know how much you paid on Amazon? I’m just wondering if it’s worth waiting for on Amazon or if I should buy it for $105. Thanks
