High grade gold plated pins gold recovery!

Hello friends. In this video I will process 100 grams of quality pins. All pins that throw out ten grams and more gold per kilogram are considered a high grade pins.I will process them with nitric acid because they are clean and do not have too many unwanted metals such as tin and lead.Chears!

I find I get that sludge a lot when doing brass in nitric especially if I don't add enough water. Try adding MUCH more water...like twice the amount you have in that beaker. More water means more space for the metals to go when they dissolve. This is also one of the reasons why I've stopped processing pins and instead I add them to my stockpot and let them dissolve slowly over time. I figure I have to add copper and process the stockpot anyway so this just makes things easier and I just wind up with a higher gold recovery when I do process it. Also, if your nitric is harder to find and more expensive perhaps it is time to start using less when processing the gold and use incremental dosing so you don't have an excess that needs urea to get rid of it. The easiest way I found to make more money at this was to become more efficient.

You need a container, the power supply, the leads and clips, the cathode, H2SO4 and the electricity...you need to provide all of that extra stuff. I already have a stockpot and I already have to add copper to it. Tossing in the pins and walking away performs multiple jobs all at once and cost me nothing, other than maybe 3 seconds of time. I try to be as efficient as possible and that includes my time. The less I personally have to do the more I can actually get done as I can get multiple jobs moving at once.

Great video Dusan. Be careful with putting acids in drink bottles especially when it looks like Koolaid. My mom accidently drank acetone that my dad put in a Squirt bottle. She made a full recovery but she was mad at him for years.

So I used to do landscaping and the gas oil mix that we used was red and they put it in a Gatorade bottle and I took a big swig of it oh my God I was burping up oil and gas mix for four days it feels like

999 Dusan,. I melt the pins and pour it into water while molten to create what is called shot. Collect it, then use Nitric> it will remove all the base metals, and leave 24k gold mud in the bottom. No filtering, Just keep adding Nitric until there is no reaction, the shot is gone. The gold clumps up and sits on the bottom. Then you can just pour off the solution, add some distilled water to the mud and boil it. Do that until the water is clear. . Jewelers do it all the time, the process is called inquartation 100% 24k gold recovery

This may be a dumb question about Aqua Regia but here goes. If the solution continues to release brown fumes that means that metals are going into solution. Correct? Or does it just mean the extra nitric is boiling off?

Nice job, I've been doing this for years. Over a pound of 24k so far. Getting ready to run about 15 lbs of plated pins. 50 gram test run produced 3/4 of a gram. Should yield about 90 grams, about 3 oz.

Hello Dussan, can you please tell me if we can use regular hot plate when boiling sulfuric acid for bga chips, and what is the safe and effective temperature for accelerating reaction. You should try hydrochloric acid with incremental dosing of nitric acid, you won't have excess nitric acid and won't have to use urea. Brilliant educational video as usual..
