High Lift Garage Door Track System Demo

Overhead sectional garage doors operate on a track using rollers, cables, pulleys and springs. Track options are available depending on headroom or space above the door. Here you can explore one type called High Lift Tracks. This type can be used in applications with tall ceilings. Allowing the door to open utilizing the extra space or traveling above a loft. In this video our garage door is installed with 36" of high lift allowing the door to open enough to allow for a car lift. The springs and tracks are special order and are calculated by the manufacturer to fit each specific application. This door required (2) 40" torsion springs with .295 wire. The door is a carriage type wood door from Amarr By Design Collection. Also a LiftMaster 8500 Garage door opener is used to operate the door. (Jack Shaft Opener). www.gsoverheads...

I just bought a clopay 16x7 coachman with an overlay very similar to yours, and they said it's 320lbs. Is your 8x7 really 300 lbs?

There is a new model @liftmaster 8500W and this is stronger rated. It should not have a problem at all with 320lbs.

With it being wood, and the overlays, flush interior surface material and the glass a door like this can easily go to 300 lbs for a single car size

I believe you can get them from Home Depot or Lowe’s. Genie just came out with their side mount model last year. Much better in my opinion. Smaller, stronger and less moving parts that can go wrong

Yep no big deal I've installed a thousand of them in fact I have most of the time had to cut and fabricate the track myself including the jam brackets progressing upwards to the ceiling I had a major argument with the door manufacturer anymore one time with a giant slant door because I have done it more than once and I know that you do not need coned drums to lift a slant door even if it has a little bit of high lift to it all you need are bigger springs I know that for a fact because I have done it everybody goes by what the manufacturers say but I am a 25-year veteran and I have made things work that most garage door technicians would go you're full of crap well I'm telling you I'm not full of crap you don't need progressive cones to make a slant door work you just need the right springs I have made springs I haven't made cables, I did it for years

Of course not the door is lifting the same distance and coiling same amount the extra cable doesn't get coiled just needed to reach door from greater height . Ill take a backyard mech with years of experience over a """"professional""" straight out of school any day. Keep Doing You Bro
