I Converted My Garage Door to High Lift and You Should Too

Hi, I am trying to do the same. Can you please share the adjustments. And I noticed the door was not staying open, you just to hold it. What was needed to fix that issue. #2. Will you be using electric for opener for this door. If not, will you have to put a rope to bring the door back?

I had to add more tension on the springs for the door to stay up, and if you watch my opener video, I show what I did for the opener. Which adjustment you are referring to?

The door is not staying open because of one of two things. The springs are the incorrect wire size, length, and possibly inside diameter after going from 12"/15" radius track system to a high light track system. Or your cable length is incorrect.

@@henningtanner The cable length wasn't the issue, I had to add more tension to the springs (2 additional turns to be exact).

What brand is the lift you got and how is the performance? I'm tired of being on the ground working on my cars.

Does it bother anyone else how he used the adjustable wrench? I have issues it may just be me.

Thank you for your comment, the adjustable wrench has a good grip due to the square shape of the screw.

@diydadhub I gotcha. We have all struggled with old school adjustable wrenches. I stopped using them and either use channel locks or knives auto adjust wrenches.

The adjustable wrench is a good choice, it can be used as a hammer if you get mad at what you are working on…..
