Its a 1/2 tongue where you dampen 1/2 of the vibration of the reed with with your tongue and let the other half vibrate still. Tricky to get down but is super cool

Either that or he is pressing down all three fingers on his right hand (since the note is an A it flattens the note ever so slightly) I need to look more into it because I am transcribing the solo and am nearly done

@@dadripdoctor2062 Three years old, but it's definitely half tonguing. Putting down the three fingers of the right hand raises the pitch by almost a quarter step, which you don't hear here.
