@mrepix82875 жыл бұрын
That’s because you were forcing too much air out. Your vocal chords did not close properly, so all that could come out was air. Trying breathing through a straw to feel how small of an air stream you use for hitting notes in falsetto.

But sadly, most had become ultimately a high notes contest rather than singing contest.
@josephlor50495 жыл бұрын
It's not that, when you sing on a contest for judges to pick you. You have to show them your range and what you got plus why you're worthy of them choosing you. Being monotone isn't gonna get you anywhere. High notes comes in handy in many many songs.
@prettycockroach5 жыл бұрын
@@josephlor5049 it does. But there were instances where winners only win because they have higher range than that of their competitor. And the judges themselves seldom 'wow' on hard to reach low notes and cheer so much at a high note. Plus, i think the singing itself is often disregarded for belts. These are the reasons I don't watch that much of singing contests anymore. Those who were pleasing to my ears are eliminated just because they have styles that doesn't require high notes. Edit: take Dimash for example. I don't hate the guy. And I'm glad for people who enjoy listening to him. I'm just not one of those people. I don't find his mixed voice pleasing to listen to. And that's most of the singing takes place. So despite really appreciating his head voice, I am not a fan.
@iworshipgaysandsatan68225 жыл бұрын
John Peter Martinez Tolio i can agree in the instance of people like Dimash who hit high notes just for the sake of wowing people and sacrifice any emotion with theatrics etc. But generally people who win talent shows don’t won’t solely on the fact that they can hit high notes, but it’s what they can do with the high notes, convey emotion, use for emphasis and power appropriately etc
@josephlor50495 жыл бұрын
@@prettycockroach I agree and disagree with what you said. Everyone has their own opinions and you feel how you feel but that really isn't the case here. Judges choose someone they know is more capable or will last longer in the industry. It might please you but it won't get them far. The judges their selves have many experiences and knows what's "good" And what's "not". I think you're interpreting the whole show wrong with how you feel. They don't win for their high notes. They win with what they can do and what they show that proves they're worthy of a stand. The singing itself dies very quickly. If you're someone thats capable of belts, runs and falsettos with range. You have a bigger chance of going somewhere because you have a high variety of range that they know you can work with many themes and song choices. Singing itself is very great but if you think about it logically the more you can offer the more you can get. You're throwing your feelings in with what has nothing to work with the show lol. I know how you feel but when you're in a contest and show nothing but singing. It won't help you. People are in a competition for a reason, to show what they got and show why they're there. Not because they can sing only. Low notes them selves are hard to hit as well, but thats only pleasing to you and some others to hear.
@josephlor50495 жыл бұрын
@@iworshipgaysandsatan6822 I disagree with what you said. Dimash doesn't hit high notes just to wow people. He shows them what he can do with his voice and how he can use it. Everyone Knows he has a good range of highs and lows but there are personal preferences as well to how likes to sing and how he chooses to convey the song with it.

@Jeki_toki4 жыл бұрын
@Leo Tv Vitas does not have such a wide range, in his youth he had only 4 octaves and one semitone (D2 - Eb6), Dimash has a vocal range of 6 octaves and 5 semitones (A1 - D8) Dimash has a better belting technique, better mixed voice, better and more flexible head voice. And most importantly, Dimash has a much better chest voice. Dimash has many vocal techniques (melismas, vocal fry, falsetto, whistle, iodal, twang, more complex runs). There is no need to disgrace and compare Vitas with Dimash.

@@samuellima7075 But Sohyang doesn't sound that way across the Range. Dimash sounds very good in the chest register, and at the same time sounds very good in the head. Sohyang does not have such a baritone and the quality that men have. She will not be able to sing Dimash’s songs, such as Ogni Pietra, Passione, or Olimpico. But Dimash will easily sing all the songs of Sohyang. Sohyang is very talented, but Dimash is a unique singer, and it is impossible to compare him with other singers.

On a more positive note, what I do like is truly masterful high notes like Giacomo at 3:27. He isn't making these notes because he's a counter tenor, but because he's learned to sing in a unique and masterful way. Dimash is similar. If he had the vocal proficiency of Shawn Mendes, I can assure you he would strain to belt out a D5. Their success is clearly based on lots of work and can be entertaining for that reason. Plus you never know what they will do next. Dimash did a pretty much perfect rock belt in the "We Will Rock You performance. The D8 whistle was incredibly shocking.
