I'm also a qualified earthmoving equipment mechanic, 10 years in the industry, opencast and underground, terrible life choice, there is no job security, no life, racist industry, no growth unless youre a mpimpi. You have to work overtime and its a must, I'm now a software engineer, went back to unisa just in time and its the best decision ever.

@@liferesetwithboni as someone who's currently in a learnership for mechanical engineering (fitter) it's as simple as enrolling in a tvet college and get your N2 then you have the minimum requirement for you to get a trade test which is a certificate for a Artisan N2 IS 3 MONTHS TRADE IS 3 YEARS NJE THEN YOU ARE DONE

The different between diesel mechanic and earthmoving mechanic is simple..Earthmoving mechanic is a diesel mechanic who specialise with earthmoving machinery that deals more with hydraulics. e.g. excavators, bull dozers, front end loaders and ADT.we call them yellow machines..while diesel mechanic deals mostly on site tipers,highways trucks, tractors and ext..diesel mechanic does has minimal hydraulics..I hope I cleared the confusion between the 2.

Regarding the first payslip, the grade 10 and N3 qualification. You forgot to add to his qualifications his 26yrs experience. I know for a fact that field experience is worth more than book knowledge. You should not expect to walk straight from your FET and earn this basic salary, 26yrs experience is probably equal to a doctorate, well at least a 4yr degree with Masters. Love your content and exposure our kids have to possible career fields.

owk let me emphasize more with the Artisan job requirements that i didn't hear you mentioning... for one to became an Artisan you need , grade 9-12.. engineering studies from a TVET college (Electrical or mechanical nated studies) basic requirememnt is N2, a recognized apprentice training where you get a stipend while studying (18months practice from training center and 18- 36months at workplace) then you get Trade test certificate from a seta in SA we have 22 different Seta (s).basically it like 3 to 4 year course/program.

You are wrong its 3months for N2 then you get an apprentice you do 6months at training centre then 12months in workplace … other companies will make you do 6months in training centre then 2years and 4month in the works place … may i add that you get paid lol

If I say Chartered Accountant, do I still need to mention that he did his Honors Degree and articles for 3 years ? To me, it's obvious if you are a CA and the same applies here. If you are an artisan, you have done your extensive training. Also, remember, I post payslips here, I'm not discussing the academic journey (which I will soon), so I ask for qualifications and years of experience only. But honestly, to me, an artisan is a skilled person who has gone through extensive training and has done his trade test. Title says : Artisans

The gain share depends on whether mining production meets their production targets. For example. If mine planning has set a target of 50 000tons of ore (whatever is being mined there) whether they reach it or not. In most cases they set realistic targets. Secondly on how safe the ore was mined out. Safety is a big part of incentives and bonuses.

Hi I can't give you career advice as I'm not qualified to do so but what I know is apprenticeships don't come by easily, a lot of people have been waiting for years to get an apprenticeship. It's also hard to get a teaching job in this country at the moment. You might be lucky if you have maths and physics . In teaching, you also compete with people with PGCE. So those are things you have to think about.

Requirements to study at a Tvet college are no longer like before lol, now you must atleast have matric . You can never study without a matric certificate also your matric must be a D , If its a H you will have to start from Levels which are like 2-3 years before you enrol for the Nated programme (N2-N3). I just had to point that out before someone thinks of quitting school while in grade 10 lol. I also studied at a Tvet college and I would really recommend them. People tend to look down on them hey, I did Electrical Engineering from N2-N5 however I only studied it because my dad pressured me to study Electrical Engineering. I have always wanted to study Sign Language or Teaching . Watching your videos are kinda making me regret why I was not applying with my N2-N5 . Currently I am studying towards a Degree in Education and I am a full time Content creator . I am happy with my decision however no man Artisans make money hey 😂😂😂chest pains for real🤞

But moving from Grade 10 to a Tvet College didn't mean you won't have a matric equivalent. I know people who went to do IT actually recently, not so long ago from Grade 9. Doing well as software developers now in Sandton offices. 🤣 people used to think Tvet is for people with bad results, kanti Maths and Science is required.
