Did this workout for the first time today. Felt good for the first half and then, whew, really works your cardio and muscles to continue grinding through the last sets! As a tall guy (6'4"), mobility and getting 'twitchier' is a constant area to improve and this will be in my 2-3x weekly to-do list going forward. Great work and embrace the burn!

Second day in a row to do the workout and it definitely gets easier! Still a burn and challenging your self never stops, but the cardio-heartrate-breathing burn over the final minutes was improved this time. I highly encourage folks to add this a few days a week. Only takes 12-15 minutes TOTAL and can do it at home and without any equipment!

What I'd modify about Fast Feet & Swing is to have a Beep sound every 3 seconds for the split step and then perform the split at the Beep followed by the swing and recovery followed by fast feet. Maintain fast feet until you hear the next beep for the split step. Generally it's about 3 seconds between split steps. Eventually you could push it down to 2 seconds.

Also its important to remind viewers that that when they are tired say sets 4 and 5, that's where you get to work on the mental part of championship tennis. State focused, slow your mind down, and technique becomes that much more important

Just a quick thought, if your goal is to improve speed, agility, or quickness, drills should be completed with 100% intensity and with full-recovery. This video demonstrates a conditioning drill, it would not lead to increased speed, agility, or quickness.
@FirstLast-qj4eh
@FirstLast-qj4eh 2 жыл бұрын
Then what will lead to increased speed, agility, and quickness?
@zachpinney
@zachpinney 2 жыл бұрын
@@FirstLast-qj4eh Many things. But the underlying principle is max effort, short duration exercises with near full recovery. To get more explosive you have to train near your threshold. You cannot get faster by running slower. You don’t train speed by running long distance. You cannot increase power in a fatigued state. Now, of course there may be a gray area and athlete variability. But this drill is clearly sport specific conditioning. I’m not saying the drill has no value, it’s just promoting the opposite adaptation than it’s claiming. Power and conditioning are on opposite ends of the fitness spectrum.
@FirstLast-qj4eh
@FirstLast-qj4eh 2 жыл бұрын
@@zachpinney so what you’re saying is you have to go full out, full potential when you train anything so you can get max effect?
