Yup. He looks up slowly, pauses for a few long seconds that seem like minutes, then grabs the bottle and delivers the line with a perfect mixture of confidence and contempt. IMO the coolest, most badass moment in movie history. Pure genius. I've been told off more than once for saying this is my favorite movie because of the rape scene. And trying to tell someone that it's ok and they're taking the scene out of context doesn't help. Anybody else have that happen to them?

Chris P nope coz people I know don’t really watch westerns . In all fairness the more accurate you get with things like this the more offended people get . You're so right, the other night I watched about 45 minutes of "Mr and Mrs Smith". I like Brad Pitt, he's a fine actor. But damn, I think it might be the worst movie I've ever seen. Good scripts and meaningful dialogue have been replaced by endless explosions and clever banter, neither does a thing for the STORY. In my opinion Tarantino's the only major director who gives a shit about dialogue and not overdoing it. And it's no surprise that he idolizes Sergio Leone....

That's almost impossible in most small towns that I was in. Many of them are close knit communities that aren't too keen on embracing loners or drifters in a sense. And if a stranger isn't very talkative to the town's people when they strike up a conversation, or the loner isn't interested in any of their welcome wagons if such a person decides to live there, they are looked upon as the odd one out and are then scrutinized. Either that or the town's people find some way to make your stay as uncomfortable as possible in hopes you'll eventually move elsewhere. Of course, this is not the case with all small towns though. Some people in these communities leave each other alone and don't even bid a 'hello' to one another on the street. Each place is different. Different strokes for different folks I guess. Even when I was passing through and stopped in a tavern and saw someone sitting on a bar stool or in a corner by themselves, I left them alone. I knew better than to walk up to them and say, "Hey partner!! How goes it?! Never seen you before?! Why are you sitting all by yourself?! Why the long face?! Why the ominous silence from your end?! That's not good!! Why are you ignoring me?!" No. They wanted to be alone, so I left them alone.

While I'm not necessarily a western fan, I've always felt this movie was in my top 30 favorites of all time. Eastwood understood how to use body language to exert authority. The technical semiotics and the diegetic overtones really is done well throughout the entire film and really sets the mood. This movie actually has a sophisticated theme. Small towns are often occupied by people who are actually bad. Here Clint, as a drifter gunfighter, actually comes into town just wanting a drink, a shave, and a hot bath. But Clint is actually a ghost, a character who arrives to punish the townspeople for their shady, immoral behaviors. And he does it in such a bad-assed way! I've noticed that in most of Clint's films, there actually are hardly any good guys.

Yep the beer does look good! Being thirsty, but also the frothe on the beer makes it look even better👌
