I have been working with HPP for over 35 years and a big advocate of the technology for both food safety and Nutrition. Many good points in the video but many of the general conclusions can be misleading: There cannot be an increase increase in nutrients (67 % stated). The main reason vitamins and bioactive compounds are not affected is that covalent bonds are not affected. I - 2 degrees temperature during HPP is incorrect. Compression heating for water is 3 oC per 1000 bars (or 37 oF/14,000 psi) - slightly higher with fats. However, this amount of heat when starting at 41 oF does not have any significant impact on microorganisms or nutrients. Digestibility of HPP foods (proteins/carbohydrates) can improve.

Thank you for pointing out this video. I really admire your passion and trust you because of it. I do have one question and you may have answered some of it with this video....I notice that a lot of the comparisons show 'not much difference' between HPP and non-HPP...so then why HPP? Maybe the BENEFITS overall may have not been as clear, but I definitely feel better about HPP now. 😊

Hi! In short, HPP I'd a very efficient way to make raw foods safer by eliminating pathogens without the use of heat. Thanks!

hello :) You did not mention plastic transfer into the food
@GreenJuju Жыл бұрын
Hi! If you look at the most relevant data involving raw pet food, no more plastic has been found in the food than just storing it in plastic generally. Which is very minimal as well!

@@GreenJuju Thank you for the reply. From extremely extensive research, I''ve come to the conclusion that Solutions Pet Products (Food & Supplements) and Green Juju (Treats/veggie blends) are the best commercial products available. I would love to hear why Solutions is wrong in their FAQ section where they explain why they chose not to use HPP. I know they have higher quality sourcing, but is yours really so much worse that you must HPP? We all know that there is so much more that we DON'T know, and cannot explain scientifically, than there is that we've discovered for a fact. So why not just err on the side of less processing?

@@GreenJuju what do you mean by nutrients increasing or unlocking? Do you mean to say that they become more bio-available? Or is there some sort of chemical reaction that suddenly creates brand new nutrients? You're basing your enzyme evidence on 1 singular enzyme that was studied? I'm sure you have your own internal reasons on why you use HPP, but I think you've failed to present it as a good idea. I've tried a good dozen or so frozen raw foods, and all of the HPP'd ones (almost all of them) had a distinct smell and resemble pink slime. Solutions is the opposite. You guys definitely err on the side of convenience with releasing freeze dried diets and all, which I do appreciate since fresh meat treats would be highly inconvenient, but I could never imagine feeding freeze dried mainly. Great for a camping trip or travel though

@@matta6298 Thanks for the comments! Our sourcing is better or as good as any pet food company. We choose to use HPP in our safety protocols for the reasons (and more) outlined in the video. Some other companies choose not to. In science, agreement and disagreement is inevitable. The good news is that the consumer has the choice to use HPP'd or non-HPP'd products!

Are the frozen raw patties human-grade? Please post a video on frozen raw diet patties & sliders. I would love to actually see the patties and see them being fed to your pets.
