Let me tell you a true story , maybe people might remember. Back in the early 90's, was in W.Hills with my mate, and he had done a s/fc on a flat race , race started,we didn't know this but the commentator has got 2 horses mixed up and is calling the wrong horse leading going into the final furlong , race ended he had the 2nd correct for the forecast but not the winner, threw his slip away, we both left and he went home , about an 1hr later I went back in the bookies ,checking the results and now it's showing his horse as the winner and the 2nd still the same,meaning his s/fc has won 😂 I am totally confused because if the original winner had been disqualified, How did his horse become the winner seeing as we thought it had come nowhere. Asked another punter what had happened and he said , the commentator had been calling the wrong horse through the race and in fact my mates horse had won and the 2nd horse was correctly called giving him the s/fc. I went to his house told him and of course he told me to eff off and don't wind him up.😂 Got him to check the famous old ceefax and 2mins later we're of to the bookies to get his winnings😂 I wonder how many people lost money on that by thinking they had lost , left the bookies and didn't check the results 😂

@HorseRacingLegends Thanks, mate Luckily, it was our local bookies, and he was well known in there ,so the manager paid him out with no winning slip ! And again, Luckily, no one picked his scrunched up slip of the floor and checked it and collected his winnings. I think it was close to £100 he got back I bet that happened in a lot of bookies, people backed the same horse as my mate, chucking there losing slips on the floor thinking its been beat,leave the bookies and 10mins later the result has changed. Losing slips are now winners, and someone would definitely start picking up chucked slips , maybe finding a winning slip 😂

@andrewblackie7170 he didn't it was John Reid whom rode Tony Bin in 1988... He got out in time, whereas Michael Roberts was denied a clear run on Mtoto. It was a great race though...

Your Ruthless Jay.Straight to it lol.Yes Triptych was struggling to go the early pace I noticed.Pushing away after 2 Furlongs and Unite was going better funnily enough but She folded in the straight.Yes Steve was right up there with Lester.100 pc.
