i played Jocky in the mid 70s (I think it was 1977) in the Fife league when I was a student at St Andrews. Everyone on my team was dreading being drawn against him in the singles and I was the unlucky one. I was still on nearly 300 when he finished. But my partner (who was a Scottish international) and I got our revenge in the doubles. This may have been partly due to the amount he drank during the evening. He then got in his car and drove home.

Eric Bristow wasn't scottish, he was a cockney and that is somone who was born within the sound of Bow Bell's. If you dont know what it means ? It's easy to look it up. I liked by the way 'Jocky Wilson' great player great guy.

A GREAT DARTS PLAYER AT THE TIME BUT BAD LOSER, R.I.P. JOCKY WILSON.
Eric Bristow was English. The clue is in the name "Crafty Cockney" . Jocky didnt brush his teeth because for years, he had none. Famously know for always being steaming drunk on stage.

One thing I hate is a Yank getting everything wrong about a country he knows nothing about ! Eric Bristow was NOT a fellow Scotsman, Bristow was born in the London Borough of Hackney, that is why he was known as "The Crafty Cockney" now for those who cannot tell the difference between a Cockney and a welk, a Cockney is by tradition someone born within the sound of BOW Bells (the bells of St Mary le Bow, 438.3 miles from Kirkcaldy (pronounced : kuh kaw dy) where Wilson was born. At least do your audience the courtesy of getting your fact right. It's called research! .
